Topic: Multi-users logged in at same time

Hello,

I am new to switch and bought one for my two kids. I am used to PS4 where they both have an account and can play a single game at the same time logged into their accounts. That way both of their characters will level as they play together not just one of them.

With the switch they also have individual accounts setup but when they play a game, say Arms, only one of them have an option to login.

Is it possible for them to both login and play games together?

I was wondering about the same thing with Mario Kart?

Multiplayer will prompt the other players to choose their accounts. Playing online does yield progress for all.

@Synrx Depends on the game. I don't think Arms gives you that option, except maybe when playing online? Rocket League does give you that option though for example, as does Mario Kart's online mode.

It is game dependant.

ARMS gives allows players 1 and 2 to play different accounts and obtain currency individually.
Fast RMX each player chooses their profile in a streamlined custom UI for the purpose, right before selecting their vehicle, though there is no unlocks in multiplayer.
Portal Knights gives each player their own save, containing slots for worlds and heroes, and you can choose whose world to play in.
MineCraft uses accounts to determine skins, position in the world, achievements, and inventory. Note that only the skins are persistent between worlds.

Nine Parchments, the account is selected on game launch and all players contribute to that profile's skill tree.
Crypt of the Necrodancer, Aegis, Overcooked, and CRAWL, all also only uses one account for progression.
