I would want it to run at a least 40fps, but 30 is good to. I think it would release two months after ps4 and xbox.

I get why crash was popular. It was cutesy, colorful and another animal with attitude type game that was a big hit in the 90's but the thing that made mario so appealing was the ease of play. Maybe not the first one but mario 3 was easily accessible. Anyone from 5 to 95 could enjoy it and you didn't even have to be that much into gaming. Plus the game tossed lives at you constantly like candy!

Crash on the other hand is pretty stingy with lives, those bonus levels can be really cruel and there's pitts of death and poor hit detection all around. Sometimes I'd be fighting a boss and wasn't even sure when the heck it was safe to jump on them. Same with enemies.

To me crash had a brief popularity like all the other animal mascots but these days he's not much better than bubsy, Crock or Klonoa. His star fell long ago. I guess it's cool that they brought him back recently for those who fondly remember him but as a late playstation owner he was already a relic from a bygone era by the time i discovered him.

@Zeldafan79 I recognise your criticisms in my experience with Crash 1 but so much of that was ironed out in Crash 2 and Crash 3. Crash 3 in particular is an accessible game which scales its difficulty well throughout.

I dont think Crash, Mario or even Sonic can be judged to be objectively better than each other in any sense, it is more of a matter of personal taste. For me, Crash was a more engaging and entertaining experience. Well until Wrath of Cortex... but we dont talk about Crash's 'dark years'.

Dark years ha ha i know what you mean! I liked in the trailer for crash 4 that one character asked how many times has crash beaten that clown and he's like 3! Wow only three? Feels like more LOL!

I'll be honest i only ever finished the first game but it was rough. Still meaning to beat the sequels but i did notice improvements on those.

I agree with zeldafan79, that's why I put off crash 2. Crash 1 was pretty frustrating, specifically some of those bridge levels, or the speed run levels. But, it wasn't all bad. It was still a good time. I think ill fire up 2 as my next game to see if some of those changes were made to make it a little more approachable.

@Deazzy We know Crash sold just over 10 million copies between PC,Switch,PS4,XB1 combined as of mid 2019. Spyro sold over 4 million on PS4, over a million on XB1, and no known numbers on Switch or PC.

Crash definitely outsold Spyro, but probably not by as much as you were implying. It's at worst about a 5 million copy gap, assuming the PC and Switch releases bombed.

@link3710

Yeah but that's a lot from my point of view because I think Spyro is considerably better!

@Dezzy I mean, I agree. Spyro games are better in my opinion too, but Crash came first so it basically was to Sony what Mario was to Nintendo for quite some time. Spyro has it's issues too of course, like Gnasty Gnorc being a non-presence in the first gam or to mandatory backtracking and poor story and gameplay integration in the second, but I think that trilogy is far more solid overall.

Though admittedly, my favorite Spyro game is still Season of Flame so...

I had to google to find out what that was!

@Dezzy Seriously? Season of Flame, Season of Ice, and Attack of the Rhynocs are incredibly good games. I highly recommend them.

I am hoping that within a year of the other ports, we shall have the Nintendo Switch port. In the meantine though, I still haven't played Crazh Bandicoot 3 of the girst trilogy, so I could have me some good bandicooting if I wanted!

I already have an Xbox One, so I'll just use that instead of waiting a year for a Switch port (though I would really like that).

I should get a PSP. Or a GameCube. Or a GBA. Or a PS2. Or a...

Probably close to a year after the other versions. I definitely do intend on picking it up on PS4 but I'm double dipping on Steam personally.

Maybe we'll see this one in under a year, maybe somewhere between 6 months and a year. I think the other games and Spyro did pretty well on Switch, so maybe they'll wanna dip into that pool sooner than last time.
