I'll admit I was a little bit surprised and tad frustrated that the new Crash Bandicoot game isn't going to be coming to Switch at the same time as Xbox One and PS4, however I'm sure the vast majority of us are sure it will eventually make its way to the system. Personally I'm going to wait because I find playing Crash games on the Switch to be a better overall experience than on my Xbox.
So what are our predictions for the inevitable Switch Release date?
My guess is that it won't take quite as long as it took for Spyro or N-Sane Trilogy to come over because Activision are now very aware of the popularity of the series on the platform. So I think they might aim for a December release to make the most of the holiday season?
@Ninfan I certainly hope so. The developers, Toys for Bob, did a great job with the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, so they have good form, and the trailer seems to suggest that they have taken the central formula of the original Crash trilogy but have significantly built on it to bring it up to the current era of gaming's standards and expectations.
I'm really getting sick of Switch being treated as an afterthought. It's a new Crash game, not a massive open world AAA game with hyper realistic graphics.
I understand why, in its first year, Switch didn't always get ports of multiplatform games or it got them later, as the platform was treated with caution. But years later and with millions of sales it's just getting ridiculous. All I can think of is publishers find a substantial enough number of Switch owners actually double dip and are willing to buy the game twice just to own it at launch and then later own it on Switch.

Exactly my thoughts.
Switch isn't new device anymore, it have sell well so i really dont get it.
It's really sad that we still dont see enough 3rd party support though Switch sells like a bread.
This device have so much potential..
Don't get me wrong, i love it, but still i need to buy almost every new 3rd party game to ps4 or pc, otherwise i need to sait 6 month more or less.
@Kova Exactly. It's no longer a new system and it has a massive install base. I just don't understand it. I don't even personally care about Crash 4, but given that some developers are great at releasing games for the Switch and matching the release date of the other platforms, it's tiresome that far more publishers are still acting as if the platform doesn't even exist. It's just getting a bit tiresome. Even if we look at the argument that Switch is different and weaer hardware, it really doesn't stack up when you consider since the days of the PS1 and PS2 generation it was really common to have games released across the two generations at the exact same time.
I predict October 1st 2021 for Crash 4's release date for Switch and PC with the reveal happening during Nintendo's June 2021 Direct if such a thing exists.
Yeah, same thing what they did with the Spyro remaster trilogy: PC and Switch gets it later. Whatever, Activision won't be seeing my money until a Switch release.
@NintendoByNature
Well, typical Activision.
Playstation and Xbox first, other platform later.
Btw, the new Crash Bandicoot game will be running on 60 fps ! 😃
@Dezzy This might be sacrilege to say on a Nintendo forum, but since I grew up with Crash games not Mario and I grew up with CTR not Mario Kart, Crash is alot of people's Mario, including me.
@Dezzy Agreed. I wasn't a Nintendo fanboy in the 90s (on the contrary, I was actually a Sega fanboy), but I never understood the love for the Crash franchise. The games were ok and decent, but as good as great platformers like Mario? Nah. No where close to being in the same league. I couldn't believe Playstation fans in the 90s seriously thought Crash or Spyro were "Mario beaters".
But that's just my opinion. I appreciate that a lot of people really do love the series. And I've left behind childish console war arguments back in the 90s, I just wanted to say I know exactly what you mean.
I remember hearing about crash all the time when the original playstation came out but never actually played the games until years later. When i finally did play them i found the games painfully infuriating and not casual friendly at all. Mario games can typically be enjoyed by anyone especially the 2-D ones but crash oh no! You gotta have a heck of alot of patience and tolerance for frustrating BS to play those. Take the chase levels for example. There were so many times i had to constantly redo stages after dying countless deaths. Don't even get me started on trying to get 100%!
So yeah Mario killer i don't think so! You gotta be fun and easily enjoyable even by less skilled players to even come close to comparing to mario! Sonic almost had mario beat in the early 90's until everything went south with the 3D games but he's still way more popular even today then crash.
On a side note ain't it messed up that switch got the crash trilogy but Crash 4 apparently is too good for switch? What's up with that?

Its horses for courses really. Personally I think the classic 90s Crash games are better than any of the classic 90s Mario games which I went on to play in my adulthood. Theres enough space for all of these platformers. Clearly from the sales figures of Crash on Switch, especially here in the UK, Activision are the biggest loser for not having a simultaneous release for Crash 4 on the platform.
