Hi, been searching for hours to an answer for this!! I have a gamepad to sell after an unfortunate accident with my wii u and a cup of tea!! How do I wipe it and restore it to factory settings? Or is it now useless? Can someone buy it and get it to work on their Wii U? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think any information is saved to the GamePad. I think you can sell it if you want.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

All of the games are on the Wii U system itself not the gamepad itself.

I have nothing particularly constructive to say at this moment.

But if you busted it, why would anyone else want it? Stick it on ebay as spares/repair.

Immaculate condition. Busted with tea. You trolling much no kthnkbeye.

A: I spilled tea over my wii u unit, NOT the gamepad and B: The shop is willing to buy it providing it can be restored to its original factory settings, with nothing on it, like new. I don't know anyone else with a Wii U so I'm just stuck with it! And no, the shop doesn't have a Wii U either.

(a) If the shop has no Wii U then it will never know whether 'factory settings' have been restored or not, so just tell them they have.

(B) The gamepad will not store anything on it specific to you. The Wii U stores all the settings and applies them to the gamepad that it is paired with. Any gamepad can easily be paired to any Wii U using the 'sync' buttons.

Hey guys, let's not call each other names

As for the recently played titles that appear, those icons will disappear once the game pad is connected to a new console.

Agreed shane

As mentioned above. The gamepad just streams games so it can be re-tethered to a new Wii U so selling it shouldn't be a problem to anybody who is in need of just the gamepad.
