Topic: Those friends of yours that only play FPS games and nothing else....

I have a group of friends and I am not only the only one who has a Nintendo console, but the only the who plays something other than an FPS. It seriously ticks me off, they never want to do anything else but that COD and HALO B.S. Any one else have a similar problem?

My friends tend to play the popular blockbuster games, and I'm fine with that. I like to show them odd games I play when I get the chance.

Sort of. Except these guys only play League of Legends.

Seriously, it's worse. I'm fine to play FPS's, but I can't stand LOL. It's just too slow for me.

Still, it's pretty hard to find someone that doesn't like Smash Bros. Have you tried asking them to play that? Pretty much everyone played Melee back when FPS's weren't big, and it's darn fun, even if people don't know what they're doing.

Pretty much all my friends in school right now. I honestly don't care. Why should you? It's their choice and something they find fun you might not and vice versa. It ticks me off when they dismiss something I'd like to have a conversation about just because it involves Nintendo (or anime), but hey. What can i do.

People who only like "X" genre and is unwilling to try new things are annoying. I'd complain that this is a cliched complaint, especially from Nintendo fans, but I was in middle/high school when Halo was actually as good as it was popular so I played Halo 1 and 2 a ton and I KNOW how dumb teenagers can be with bizarre FPS superiority complex or whatever you want to call it. It is the dumbest thing.

Everyone in my school... I have been deemed a " retarded idiot" to put it nicely solely because I play Nintendo and don't freak out over the new COD or Halo.

@AmazingPopo_Man I know what you mean dude. I had the same problem when I was in high school.

You just described my life. Apparently I'm the guy with horrible taste in games, getting excited for Pikmin 3 & Animal Crossing instead of any new FPS games that all look the same.

It's all about LoL now. Holy crap everyone is playing it.

If me and a few of my friends weren't the biggest experts on gaming as whole in my school, we would very much be made fun of for liking Nintendo games, and the school would be made up of solely FPS gamers. A lot of the ignorant kind too. I mean, SOME branch out into other games, yet mostly play FPS's, and that's fine. They're awesome people. It's just those with that superiority complex that @kkslider was talking about. Bleh.

I don't know how I could game on only one genre. I just avoidsports really (puzzle sort of too but I still play some of those whe they are really good) Although I would argue that people who refuse to play FPSs and action games really have the same problem that is being mentioned here.

It's a poor man's version of Warcraft. I don't see the big deal, but if I want my RTS fix, I'll be looking at Blizzard for that one.

The funniest part about my situation is the fact that, not to brag, I am on a completely different intellectual level from the people who call me retarded. I asked someone how to spell conundrum as a test, and their reply was "koondrum".

Like fan boys aren't as bad, they only play games from their "favorite" video game company.
While I talk with my CoD friend, we always got that one guy who doesn't play FPS games, what a wierdo!

Well, ONE of my friends also plays nintendo games, but most play FPSs and stuff. And i've noticed that people who like FPSs tend to be sneakerheads for some reason. I don't see what's so great about either.
