Topic: Should Game Freak take a break from Pokemon?

Game Freak probably can, but then again, some of their games are more of a chance for their newer developer to poke Pokemon, isn't it?

I hear Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon are more like that, a chance for newer developer to get their feet wet in Pokemon without that big of a worry.

(Then again I finished Sun but I haven't touched my Ultra Moon at all... have been playing Switch instead)

I hope that the Pokemon Switch will be a revitalizing of the series though, although not sure where they can vastly improve things

I can see lots of people are saying they want difficulty modes in Pokemon but... why? Difficulty in turn-based games usually just equals more grinding. I actually am a fan of grinding but unless the difficulty is about better management of some sort of resources, I don't understand the appeal and I don't think I would want it in a Pokemon game. Also, I think GameFreak is still showing growth with the series and we aren't seeing a massive stagnation of ideas from them so I am fine with them continuing with their current level of releases. I am more than excited to pick up the next Pokemon game on Switch when it is eventually released.

@Heavyarms55 Its important for a game company to innovate, without innovation a game series will start to get stale. Constantly releasing Pokemon games so close to eachother will just lower the quality of the games and I noticed this with Pokemon X/Y and S/M. Like I dont want them to stop making them, I want them to take a break from them. And saying Game Freak doesnt need to change because other companies have talented developers is like telling a company that it should only work on one thing because they arent talented enough to work on new things, Game Freak isnt this.

I forgot this thread existed and it's hilarious. Why would you 'take a break' from making something when you can sell the same game 6 different times like Pokemon Red thru Crystal?

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

@Haru17 You're right, lets just let them make and sell the same games but with different pokemon that get worse and worse in design and a new generic story that still isn't interesting at all for a RPG game, they will still buy it, they always buy it. Innovate the series? **** that, give me easy money baabeeey! Oh and lets buy their merchandise and watch their not very good new shows and movies .

Hue... Is it just me that play Pokemon game for the story?

Also we still don't know much about the Pokemon switch, it can be the thing that revitalizes the series, or it'll drop down lower. Either way, I have hopes but we'll see. I still enjoy Pokemon Showdown to play with friends after all ( o-o)

Considering the atrocities they've committed in gen 7, they certainly need a time out.

You've got my curiosity - what atrocities?

I think no. Pokemon is what Gamefreak do best. I'd much rather they continued working on Pokemon but perhaps slowed down a little - maybe give us an evergreen Pokemon title once a (console) generation, rather than a new title every year.

I would like them to branch out a little - it would be great training for them to practice the HD development in another thing, so they are ready for Pokemon’s Next gen.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
