Topic: Pet Peeves

If anyone doesn't know what a pet peeve is, then read this definition.
"A pet peeve (or pet hate) is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to them, to a greater degree than others may find it." ~wikipedia
So, list your oddest pet peeves here! And let's try not to derail this, so don't make them particularly insulting to other members.
Anyways, here are a few of mine.

• I despise it when you tell someone your name, and then they pronounce it wrong when they repeat it. I just told you how to say my name. Did you manage to forget it within 2 seconds?
• I hate it when people say "epic", "noob", or "epicly noobish". They bug me, unless someone is saying I'm epic, or I'm not epicly noobish.
• I also hate hackers on online games. It totally destroys the point of the game.
• I hate fanboys.
• I hate it when restaraunts take the wrong order.

Words like 'frickin', 'sucks', 'rocks', and everything else American people tend to say.

The line 'that frickin rocks' should be punishable by death. In the head. To death.

I've nothing specific against our American friends, you understand.

I do hate a lot of the words americans use, also. Particularly "frickin". I don't mind "sucks", because I use it all the time.

I think in the last thread with this title, I said something stupid like... the word 'peeves'. So I'll stick with that.

Fanboys annoy the crap out of me Would that be a pet peeve?

I hate it when people use the term 'fanboy' to mean 'anyone who disagrees with me'.

I never use the term myself, but I've noticed from many an argument on the net, that fanboy is almost always used in this way now. You certainly don't have to be a fanboy, to be called a fanboy.

My only pet peeve begins with an "l", ends with a "0", and in-between is "z201".

Also, when people spell my name with caps. Like this

I consider fanboys to be incredibly biased people who spend most of their time bashing other systems (or games) for the simple reason that it is not the company/system/game that they support. Just remember this: Nintendo fanboys annoy me just as much as Sony and Microsoft fanboys

That sort of reminds me of another one.
I hate it when people are extremely stubborn [I might be guilty of this], and won't admit that they are wrong. Most of the time, they will realise they are wrong, and just start throwing out insults since they can't say anything in their defense.

I agree, a fanboy is someone who blindly, and without due thought process, sticks to a specific viewpoint, refusing to listen to any counter-arguments.

On the net though, a fanboy is 'anyone who says anything that I wouldn't have said, or anyone who likes something that I don't.'

I agree that a true fanboy is a monkey brain, to be mocked and ignored, in equal proportions. The term is applied far too broadly though.

This reminds me of another one, also.
I hate some of the commenters on youtube, that watch a video JUST to say something wrong about it. If you are an aetheist, why watch a Christian video? [this is one example that I see recurring] If all you are going to do is post hate comments, make your own video for it.

Another pet peeve of mine: people who don't use cooking spray when using a pan (not a nonstick one)

I hate it at a restaraunt, or fast food place[blech], when you order something, and the person who is taking your order doesn't speak english well, so you end up getting something other than what you wanted, and you have to wait longer to get your food.

I also hate hackers. I had heard of error code 20102, and I found a video about it, so I read the comments. Some people are seriously proud that they hack, and they say their ranks are "well earned." Just take the time to get good at a game, rather than just ruin it for everybody.

Fanboys can be annoying, but also entertaining, with their sense of having to defend a games machine of all things, its so OTT its funny, gaming crusaders definding a multi billion dollar brand from people exactly like them, only difference is the console they bought, commercial spammers though really annoy me.

I wouldn't call it a pet peeve, per se, but it annoys me when someone attempts to hide his feelings on a subject behind emoticons implying otherwise.

I'm American and I have never ever heard anyone use the word "frickin". I hear people say "freaking" though.

A real life pet peeve is when people talk during movies. "Shut the **** up before I smack you in the mouth!" [gets kicked out of movie theater]
