Do you ever see someone's profile icon in the comments of a Nintendo Life article or forum and think to yourself, "Gee, I wonder how they came up with that?"
Well this is the thread for everyone to share the inspiration behind their profile pictures! (Hopefully this isn't an already existing thread that will inevitably be locked, but after a quick search for a similar topic I found no results.)
I guess it's only logical that I share the story behind mine first, even though I'm more interested in hearing everyone else's. My profile picture is an obvious reference to the character Soos from the Disney animated series Gravity Falls. In the season one finale, Soos--while in disguise--sports a pair of sunglasses, a trench coat, a fake beard, and an unsuspicious hat that reads "Not Soos."
I had been a visitor to Nintendo Life for a long time but never really bothered with an actual account until a couple years ago. I happened to see a thread asking for Wii U troubleshooting help at like...four in the morning. Wanting to try to help, I decided to finally create an account, but I knew I would have to come up with a username. Essentially, "Not_Soos" was the first thing I could come up with. (And honestly, I don't even know if I was able to help that guy resolve his issue. But I'm still glad to have made an account so I can contribute to the NL community with my voice.)
So there's my boring story, but now I wanna hear yours! I'm really eager to see what inspired you guys to make your profile pictures what they are. (Plus, it'll help me pass the time till Nintendo's E3 presentation tomorrow.) So yeah. Let's do it!
Also, mine is just the Team Rocket sprite from Pokemon Yellow. They were always my favorite part of the anime, and their official sprite is pretty nice.
It's Corto Maltese, a sailor from an Italian adventure comic created by Hugo Pratt. I've been reading the comics and watching the animated movies recently.
This blue eye perceives all things conjoined. The past, the future, and the present. Everything flows and all is connected. This eye is not merely seen reality. It is touching the truth. Open the eye of truth... There is nothing to fear.

As @ogo79 said, the SNS-RZ-USA is a prime giveaway that it's not a legit retail cart.
And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)
It's my Mii. Shocking I know. But the story goes, many moons ago on this very website, to coincide with the release of a game called Tomadachi life, a kind of competition was running to have your Mii featured on the site or in a special video series called Days of our Tomadachi lives. This was the thumbnail of said Mii.
Alas, I didn't feature in any of the video series (blast you @AlexOlney with your more respectable demeanour and superior video editing skills)
But I did have my Mii plastered on a banner on the site for 5 whole working days!
Female Villager driving the B Dasher in MK8D, getting hit by a Bob-omb explosion while covered in ink, with the highlight reel camera fortuitously positioned inside the blast. So perfect.
It's just a shame I've since realised that the B Dasher kind of sucks, especially with a light-ish driver. I now use the Standard Bike instead.
My profile picture is Ruby Kurosawa from the anime: "Love Live!! Sunshine!". I don't know why I picked her, but it's probably because I always liked the cutesy shy girls! It's so relatable somehow. My favorite part is when she says: "Ganbaruby!" which means "I'll do my Ruby-est!" in Japanese, I think.
She needs glasses, lol

My Top 9 Favorite Games of All time.
1. Judgement
2. Baldur's Gate 3
3. Bully (Rockstar)
4. Person 4 / Golden
5. Sonic Adventure 2
6. Xenoblade X
7. Ape Escape 2
8. Animal Crossing: New Leaf
9. James Bond 007 Nightfire
In xenoblade chronicles x, there are these non flying bird like creatures that have their balls dangling beneath their neck. It's absolutely awesome.
The creature became a legend because it was revealed in one of those live direct previews almost instantly upon first recognising the game planet. One of the first things the world knew of the xenoblade world is the concept of neck testicles. Because you can meet the glorious neck testicle creature very early on in the game, its spirit remains with you forever. Its glory and genius was worthy of avatar use for at least a while.
I wonder what I'll use next... things I like usually don't pass the censorship test...
