I just seen it. It was pretty much just a 2 hour Ford Mustang Commerical disguised as a movie. How did they rope in that guy from Breaking Bad into this movie?
Unfortunately it looks like it's going to be very successful, seeing as they've just about made back they money they spent on it in just one weekend...

yeah i know. I wish i watched Peabody and Sherman and or 300: Rise of the empire, since those two movies look better. Unfortunately, a friend of mine loves Fast and Furious which i enjoy....Fast 5 and 6 are great popcorn films and he took me to this movie because it reminded him of Fast and Furious.
That's how I am sure that this movie will be a success, people who are fans of Fast and Furious will go see it and then be disappointed. Sadly in this day and age it doesn't matter how bad the movie is to warrant a sequel just how much money it makes.

Production budget is $66mil, which doesn't include marketing. Counting the rule of thumb that a movie needs to make double its production + marketing budget back to be successful (since theaters and foreign distributors keep a share), this movie is most likely dead on arrival. It may barely turn a profit by the end of its run, but I wouldn't really call it successful. It will be obliterated overseas next weekend by Captain America, and it probably won't scrape up much more domestically either.

Yeah, probably. Not me though. I love the Fast&Furious movies because they know what they are: big, dumb, action flicks.
Need for Speed seems likes it's trying to be "cool" while banking on the appeal of Aaron Paul and the video game franchise it's based on. It just appears bland in comparison.

yeah exactly. it seems like a cynical ploy to cash in on aaron paul, who mind you, is coming off of the success of the tv show Breaking Bad
