Hey everyone, I thought I'd share my crappy Halloween experience. I wasn't at home last night, so I left a bowl of candy on my porch. I come back to find the bowl is empty and someone turned it over in a bush. I think some of the candy got knocked into the bush. Even worse, I noticed my upstairs bathroom window has a big crack in it, and I don't think it was there before.
Not to be mean because you do seem like a nice guy but that was a terrible idea. Did you really think that the trick-or-treater's would just take a piece of and candy and go on in their own merry little way?
@Ryno...I was out with my kids last night and several homes we went to had a basket of candy outside and it seemed that everyone, including my children, were acting graciously...taking one or two pieces and leaving it alone.
@MERG: Glad to hear that, I am sure there are lot of people that wouldn't take advantage especially those with their parents with them. All it takes is one person to mess things up.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
that said, if you're not gonna be there and don't wanna open yourself up to that kind of thing, Link245, I've always had good luck just turning off the lights and going out on Halloween. no sense doing things halfway, y'know? :3

I'm sorry to hear about your Halloween, man. It was probably teenagers.
And I'm loving all the Batman and Iron Man costumes. They're awesome! Beats some of the lame outfits I wore as a kid.
My wife and I, since we don't have kids (yet), went down to this place called Old Town in Kissimee, down near Celebration and all that (Florida stuff) and went to a Halloween party they were having. An acquaintance of my wife's had put the event together, and it was pretty neat! Despite being packed and having some rowdy teenagers (surprise, surprise) getting settled down by the police, it was a good time.
My crappy Halloween experience is this: I saw little kids in official Mario costumes that can be purchased at the store. That's nice, but when I was younger, those didn't exist! I had to hand-craft my Mario Halloween costume! Why didn't the pre-made costume exist in my youth!?
Halloween was just mediocre here. Only had FOUR trick-or-treaters the entire night, with the front porch decorated and everything! AND I DIDN'T EVEN GET TO SEE ANY LADIES IN FRENCH MAID OR NAUGHTY NURSE OUTFITS, DAMMIT! I've seen more win in recent Wii Shop Channel updates, and Texas Rangers comebacks!
Worst I've had happen punk-wise is about 10 years ago, someone used our mailbox for target practice, like Ben Affleck & Co. did in "Dazed and Confused". Except they used a pumpkin instead of a baseball bat. Mailbox dented all to heck, and chunks of punkin to pick up!
Let's attack aggressively, kupo! :D

Man, that must've stunk. But I also have a Halloween sob story to share. This didn't happen to me, but to a neighbor. This was back when I lived in Washington. My neighbors left on a large trip to Florida or somewhere a couple days before Halloween. Let's just skip to the end, since that's when they came back and found the damage. Front door was taken off by what seemed like a crowbar. All the valuables in the house were smashed and broken, which I think is something teenagers would do. An adult would've probablly just stolen something and got out. But if that weren't enough, whoever did it hotwired the car they didn't take with them and stolen that, too. Nobody noticed, since the door was replaced, but if you inspected it then you would be able to see splinters where it was forced open. It didn't take a detective to figure out that must've happened on halloween.

The thing is, I the kids in my neighborhood are pretty young, so I guess I didn't suspect this happening. Must have been some teenagers. Anyways, I think I've learned from my mistakes.

Eh, I was passing out candy to the few trick-or-treaters coming down my road. I think the yard work equipment parked in the front (including a wood chipper-type thing) might've scared some of them away.

I guess I would've felt guilty if I didn't give out candy. XD
