About four years old. It gave up the ghost last weekend. When I pressed the on button, it just beeped at me and the monitor didn't even turn on. So I brought it in for repair... turned out either the motherboard or CPU had totally broken. Got a new CPU and motherboard and it works smooth like honey.
Still using XP SP3 and don't plan on upgrading any time soon, really. I also use Ubuntu 10.04.
This one is coming up to its 5th year I think. Hopefully for my birthday I will be getting a MacBook.

Nice one for suggesting ccleaner though. I love that lil program.
Yeah, it's pretty good. I'm rather impressed with Piriform's software, especilly their disk defragmentation software (Defraggler). It's certainly does a better job then the defragmentation software the comes with Windows Vista / Seven.
I clean my Laptop everyday with CCleaner. I then defrag it and use Disk Cleanup. Also I have had NO problems at all with the AVG Free program. It doesn't bother me,doesn't slow my laptop down. Nothing. It works great XD

My computer is probably about 2 years old now. I bought it last year, but it was produced before that, so technically I guess it's 2 years old. I really don't care about computer specs and know very little about the inner makings and all that stuff. So long as it works well for the internet, Windows Media Player, and a few games, I don't care what it is, as long as it's not Apple.
My computer is about a month old. It is Acer Aspire AX 3300 with AMD Athlon II x2, 4 gb ram, 1 tb HDD, Ati Radeon HD 4350 with 512 mb and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. It plays pretty well.
Ug! Trust me ok, I wouldn't be whining about AVG Free if it hadn't caused me to lose a whole hard-drive. My host-files got changed, a back door was created, and AVG Free ignored it. When I finally figured out what was going on (by installing a different AV program) it was too late.
I'm not saying anything bad about the paid version, for all I know that's really good. But AVG Free only provides the bare necessities.
i have some gateway that i don't know the name of. Thats really weird because i'm very computer savvy but the reason is because i got it for Christmas and i was so excited that i didn't really care
Hold the phone, you don't like AVG Free? Might I ask why?
I will admit it's just a standard virus protection program, but at least it's free and not to be paid for like Norton 360 or McAfee

I heard some reviews saying its better than the paid for Nortons & McAffee . Antivirus programs like Nortans used to be good but thats before the money started coming in . AVG Free it may not be the whole suite but it does the job better than others .
