Their 2-D platformers imho have been lacking in recent years besides Kirby and DK. New Super Mario Bros are just so bland and old. And The Artoon Yoshi games are just so boring.

Recently watched films: The Martian

Currently playing: Max Payne

Nintendo has the ability just not the will to make good 2-D Mario games. (NSLU proves it).

Name one first party title that has done something new and creative?

Dillon's Rolling Western, Kirby's Epic Yarn, NintendoLand, Metroid Other M, The Wonderful 101, Kirby: Canvas Curse, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds etc. etc.

Pretty darn easy if you ask me

I was talking about in the last few years (2) The wonderful 101 I will give you made use of the game pad in a creative way other than that it was meh, but a link between worlds I didn't find anything new and creative about that game and Kirby games are just boring lol

You act as if doing gimmicky stuff with the controls are the only means for being creative, which it is not.

I mentioned A Link Between Worlds due to the painting mechanic it introduced and the way it was used, which was extremely creative. I mentioned The Wonderful 101 because I've never played anything like it, which is rare these days. I mentioned Kirby's Epic Yarn because it used yarn for more than just a graphical effect that actually had an influence on the gameplay etc. etc.

Nintendo has Fire Emblem and Kid Icarus so why would need any other company

Because as much as I love those two franchises(especially Fire Emblem), I do like to play other kinds of games and not everything that I want to play are on Nintendo platforms.

What Nintendo does better than anyone else is polish. Apart from the odd Pokémon X&Y or Metroid: Other M saving glitch, you'd be hard pressed to find a rough edge in a Nintendo game.

Creativity… it varies. You have games like Paper Mario: Sticker Star that are new experiences dressed up as older ones as well as games like Mario & Luigi: Dream Team that look new but aren't. (I'm assuming with that example though, because when I saw my sister playing it it looked like all the mechanics were carried over from Bowser's Inside Story. That's why I haven't played this game.) Super Mario 3D World has some cool stuff like multiple characters and 3D Land multiplayer, but it still provides the same essential experience as NSMBWii. The only thing new about Mario Kart 8 is the huge graphical upgrade.

I think it has the best and most creative tracks in the whole series. Driving up ShyGuy falls never ceases to amaze me

@19Robb92 It does have cool tracks. I think most of the Mario Kart games do. Mount Wario really is something else, though. They got the feel down perfect in all aspects. And when the helicopter opened up in the intro I was like

The wow wears off after some several days, but that's to be expected.
