Topic: Get your name into the credits of a future game!!

Greetings! I am making a game currently that is so far on the horizon, that it might be on the on the other side of the world. But, for this game, I need to know what peoples desires are. I need the following from each participant EDIT don't feel limited to just these minimum details. ANY information is appreciated.EDIT
1 "good" ultimate desire
1 "evil" or "bad" ultimate desire
an explanation of each one, what it entails, why it can or can not be obtained, how you feel society would look upon you obtaining this, and you would feel obtaining this, or anything else you feel is important. You can include personal stories oh how you got the idea to want this.

basically, the more detail, the better. If you feel that it is a private matter, but still would like to tell me, feel free to e-mail jangonov@y .... All information will be kept confidential and anonymous. Also, if you would like, you can include your username or real name and should my game ever reach final production, that name will appear in the thank you section of the credits.

for legal, confidentiality, and Non-disclosure reasons, I can not delve into the plot of the game too much, but I will answer any questions that I can when asked. Just expect a lot of "no comment" responses to many of them

edit it would be unfair not to post my own, and have me ask you so here goes.
Good ultimate desire--to convey through the art of video games my true personality, thoughts, and beliefs to be truly understood by the public
Evil ultimate desire--the same as the good, but influence people at the same time to thinking what I want them to and morphing the world into my other desires.

Basically, overall, I want to create games that are influential. I want them to inspire like books and art, to evoke emotion like books and art, and to even cause controversy like books and art. Even if it comes to the point where my views are so radical (I don't think they are but neither does/did anyone else) that a group wants to have a disc bonfire. I want people to think in games. Yes there is...rudimentary ..thinking, but I do not believe that anyone has finished a game like halo, mario, or even zelda to a certain extent, and thought about how the ideas evoked in that affect their personal life and what that means to them. I intend to change that.

Ultimate Good Desire: World Peace (no really)
Ultimate Bad Desire: To start a fight with a random person. Weird right? I guess I've seen Fight Club too many times.

wouldn't world peace be a bad desire though? I mean people naturally have conflicting opinions, and to have world peace, it means convincing people of how you or someone else thinks. And that is what every major dictator has done for decades. (sorry for the 2 cents on that) but thank you for that. World peace would be something great to implement in one form or the other, and strangely as strongly as I feel about it, I never thought of making a story with an ending as such. I want to have multiple endings and depending on the players actions, it changes the story. Kid_A would you mind if I thanked you should this ever go into production in the credits? I tend to want to appreciate everyone who helps, and it is a bit of a cop-out to just say "and thanks to everyone who supported this project" or whatever

Well of course it depends on how you define "world peace". Technically in the book Brave New World they all have "peace", there's no wars and no one complains about their lot in life, but all the people created in factories and are controlled using sex and drugs. So it depends on your definition, and yes being mentioned in the credits would be way cool.

I read that book as well. Not bad actually. I liked it from a philosophical point of view, but the writing style rubbed me the wrong way a bit. Kinda like The Great Gatsby.

You've just got to get used to reading stuff from that time period I guess.

1930's English writing always used terms and phrases that only applied to that book or article. It seemed everyone was trying to coin a phrase or something. I liked it, but constantly had to use the context of something to determine it's meaning. Still, back on topic Kid_A, how would you implement world peace? and how and why would you randomly pick a fight with someone?

Ultimate Good Desire: To be the guy that everyone looks up to. Not necessarily rich and powerful, more humble and nice. Another one would be that people can understand each other.
Ultimate Bad Desire: To point out the faults in everyone. It ticks me off when I see someone that's doing something really wrong and they don't realize it. They ruin themselves and others. Pointing out what they're doing wrong could hurt them though.

Aaaahhh, well. I don't know. I couldn't even comprehend how to implement world peace. Why would I start a random fight with someone? I don't know, I guess I've always just wanted to know what it feels like to get punched in the face--although I wouldn't just stand there and let the guy hit me. A little creepy right? It sounds creepy saying it, that's for sure. How? Well ideally I'd just walk up to a random dude and say "Hey you! Let's GO!" and...idk fighting would ensue.

@moomoo, would you want those to be at the same time?

Not necessarily. Since I'm more in control of the first one, I'd probably want that to be done first. People understanding each other would be extremely hard, since each individual person has a different mindset, different hopes and dreams, and a different point of view, so it's pretty much impossible. If they could happen at the same time, though, that would be very good.

My Ultimate good desire is to work at Nintendo. I am an huge Nintendo fan, especially this generation when I'm really getting into video games. I'm currently working on an unknown video game that I have no plans of reveiling. I'm also relatively smart, so depending on how well I do, I might be able to land a job at Nintendo. I'm also wanting to learn the language of Japanese, mainly because I respect there culture very well.

My Ultimate bad desire is to start an massive internet-wide flame war about the Wii. Being someone who absolutely hate the massive campaign against Nintendo, I would probably particapate in the flame war defending Nintendo and a big one at it.

Odd, but- I like it. It seems a bit ironic to want to flame people who flame though. But who am I to question?

Ultimate Good Desire: To be able to help everyone in a way that will result in the world being a better place.
Ultimate Evil Desire: To be able to convince anyone to do anything, whether that be being a good person or committing suicide.

Bravo V8 Ninja, I like those. because in all honesty, those could be one in the same. If you had the power for that though, would that not corrupt you in turn? In essence, it would turn you into a sponge for good or evil. Taking in the desires of people you believe to be right or wrong, but inherently, the power could make you evil. Sounds a bit self sacrificial to me
