Hey guys, So, I tried to get Calling today, but it wasn't anywhere! The guys at GameStop said they've never even heard of it. Upon checking their website this morning, I noticed that the game was on their "coming soon" list. However, after checking the site recently, I noticed that it was moved to the "now shipping" list. It says under the game that "it usually takes 24 hours to ship." Does that mean that it will be in GameStop tomorrow? Or does it mean that if I order it online, I will get it within 24 hours? It didn't sound like the GameStop guys had any knowledge of such a shipment, so I'm not sure if they will actually stock the game. I have no experience with this, so please let me know...
(And please don't turn this into a "GameStop sucks" thread. GameStop is the only place I've found that actually acknowledges the game's existence, so it's the only place where I have a chance of getting it...)
I realize this, but sadly, Gamestop is also the only place that has the slightest chance of stocking this rather obscure game...
I have a similar problem, Gamestop is the only store in my area thats reasonable, 3D Games is overpriced on almost everything you could think of, several flee markets are expensive (But I'll take them up if I want the game), and there is no where else around. 3D games is a 30 mile trip as well
Usually when games i want have a street date of Tuesday, GameStop won't get 'em in 'til Wednesday -- that's how it's been in my experience, anyway. You can always try callin' 'em up tomorrow and seeing if they got any copies in. :3

Really? I used to work at a Gamestop and we always got shipments before the games' release dates. Your store probably just didn't anticipate it selling much so they only got a few copies, if any.
I think it really depends on the store. One of the GS stores near me usually gets games in the day before "street date", while another one always seems to get games in a day or two afterwards.
yeah, Gamestop stocks games the day after the release. they always tell me the release date is the actual day the companies ship them, so gamestop can't sell them until they get them, which would mean the following day. it's a pain, but ALWAYS learn to add a day to release dates, and you'll be set.

They mean that if you order it online, they'll ship it out in 24 hours. You'd probably get it 3-6 business days after that.

Same here. When I reserved the Metroid Prime Trilogy this was also the case. The "street date" was Tuesday, but the game didn't actually come into Game Stop until Wednesday afternoon when their FedEx shipment arrived. I was very disappointed as I mistakenly thought that street date = the day it hits the street. This was the first game I had ever preordered or purchased on day 1 so I never knew any better and I guess they never thought to tell me this is how it was when I placed the order.
@dragon: Usually Gamestops in the Eastern half of the US get their games that aren't big releases (ex: FFXIII) one day late. That's at least what the super awesome terrific employees of my Gamestop said

I recommend using the ship-to-store (or whatever it's called) method if you have ID and a credit card. Shipping is overnight and free . The ID is to confirm you are the orderer and the credit card is only charged $5 for handling if you don't pick up the game within 2 days of shipping (ie when the store receives the game)

Yeah, big releases (like NSMBW) will be out exactly when they say they're out and all, but stuff like the Ace Attorney games (all of which i preordered after the first) were always in on Wednesday (except for AAI, which was in on Tuesday evening, but then again i'm in a different state now so who knows). i still tend to add a day to every release date, it's no big deal for me and i'm never disappointed. :3

That happened to me with Endless ocean 2. I was suppose to be at the store on tuesday but something happend to the shipment and it didn't arrive til Thursday. Gamestops in other states got it on time. Also the order should get there on the pre-order ships date or the next day but never later.
Thanks guys. I just checked the website today, and it says that there isn't a copy of Calling anywhere in a 100 metermile (ehm... ) radius of where I live. Hopefully the status just hasn't been updated yet...I'll check again later tonight, to see if they have it. If not, I'm probably going to order online...
