Well, let's discuss ideas we have for games! Who knows, maybe we can even give ideas/support to the few people here who actually make games!

Something I've always wanted to see, is a third person (or first perdon) action/shooter based around fireworks. I'd call it Firework Wars.

Playing as plastic action figures/dolls (maybe you could choose from a soldier, alien, Barbie-like doll, etc.), it'd be a multiplayer shooter, but all your weapons would be fireworks (which would be full scale to the characters):

  • Confetti Party Popper (Shotgun)
  • Firecracker (Standard Grenade)
  • Smoke Ball (Blinding Grenade. Would come in random colors, which could even rub off on the players who run through it)
  • Crackling Ball (Frag Grenade)
  • Bottle Rocket (Bazooka/Rocket Launcher)
  • Tank (Like it's more realistic counterpart, you could ride it to wreak havoc)

There would be more weapons of course, but that's what I thought of quickly.

As for maps? A Parking Lot, Playground, Park, Garage, Firework Shop, Toy Isle, Basement, etc. (all from the scale of the toys).

As for game modes? In addition to the standard solo & team deathmatches, maybe it could have a special variant of "Capture the Flag", where you'd have a Sparkler instead of a flag, and the team holding it when it burns out wins.

So, what do you think?

NOTE:I know we've had threads like this before, but the last one I remember was months ago, and the OP of that one (won't mention, or even remember, who it was) seemed bent on keeping the discussion on their specific idea (instead of something more open), so I'm assuming it's okay to open up a new one?

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

Ha this is funny I was gonna do the same thing earlier today but thought I could wait until I got back.

But anyway the firework game idea is pretty cool and one of the maps could be at like a Chinese New Year celebration or something.

also here an Idea for the 3rd Luigi's Mansion: the story starts like this, Mario comes home(he and Luigi live together in the same house from Dark Moon) and sees a foreclosure sign on the door and freaks out then devises a plan to sell out Luigi as an Ghost Buster person and the game rather than taking place in one mansion or a couple takes place in different towns/locations (i.e an abandoned amusement park, The Daisy Cruiser, a jungle, and more) and upgrades to the poltergust and such as you complete missions/jobs for characters throughout the mario universe. So pretty cool eh?

Open world Harry Potter RPG.... the idea sells and speaks for itself. I can't get over the fact that's 2014 and this doesn't exist yet and there is no indication of it happening any time soon. It blows my mind since I'm about 99% sure that this sort of thing would sell like crazy.

Yoshi

I'm not certain how the plot would play out, but I'd really like a game in which you alternate between two playable characters for most of the game, but about 3/4 of the way through, you have to make a decision about which side to support, and the character you choose is who you finish the game as.

I guess this has almost been done with dual story modes in several games, and the two alternating characters reminds me of Halo 2 with Master Chief and The Arbiter, but if the gameplay and story are deep enough, it could make for an interesting experience.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.

Here's two Legend of Zelda Wii U ideas I came up with when I first joined and the other was like a week ago

If there is anything I think this new zelda should have its more weapons like imagine this you have a giant forest temple so you get an axe and use it for some lumberjack puzzles and a tree/plant base boss. Some more swords would be nice like another two handed sword (i.e: Biggoron sword, Great Fairy sword, Double helix sword). they could really go all out with weapons and making rupees and stores generally more important also some different armour would be cool like a complete suit of knight armour and maybe some stealthy robes, then the basic ones this shirt protects you from heat/ fire and this one lets you breathe underwater.

So I was thinking one of the cool new things they could add to this game would be an enemy handbook of some kind like imagine you encounter a new enemy and by killing it and writing down some observations into the book and like super paper mario you get a brief description of the enemy as well as finding out a weakness or just doing more damage to it in general.with this the work that designers put into the enemy isn't limited to a brief tattle from your all knowing partner.

I have game ideas, mostly related to storytelling mechanics, but some actually related to actual gameplay. I'm not just going to say them online though.

I'm not really a Potter fan, but a game like this (or a Harry Potter MMO) would sell like hotcakes! With how greedy most gaming companies are nowadays I'm surprised someone hasn't jumped on it for at least the monetary reasons.

Personally, I'd like to see a 3D Mario game but with characters/humor/rpg elements from the Paper Mario series. It's funny to think I want ANOTHER Mario game, but that just sounds too cool to pass on.

@WhiteNoise17: I doubt I would get any compensation, but if I ever do go through with and attempt to create any game, I'd like to be in control of and get credit for my ideas. If I never actually make a game, which I doubt will be the case (at the very least I intend to make it a hobby since I'll be learning some skills anyway) I'd like to discuss and give the idea to someone that I knew and who wanted to explore one of my concepts.

I think it'd also be cool to see a Wizard of Oz game kind of like Alice the Madness Returns.

That would be awesome. I loved the Alice games.

I want to make a game where you're a scientist helping create portal technology, but you cause a ressonance cascade which brings alien races to earth who enslave the population. It's your job to band together with rebels and defeat the evil, controlling humans and their partners the Combine before they enslave the entire planet. Oh yeah, and I'm going to successfully FINISH THE SERIES.

I'd love to see a game that lets the player choose how to play, not with just customizable controls but with fully customizable gameplay styles that can be changed from hack 'n' slash, to FPS, to RTS or whatever other kind of real time games that fits the setting, imagine armies made of a few warriors some snipers and a bunch of NPCs controlled by a strategist and everyone would be able to choose how to play!!!! I know this is absurd and nearly impossible but just because it won't happen it doesn't mean I can't wish it happened.

I had an idea for turn-based RPG (kinda still fine tuning it though):
The world is infested with monsters and even the environments outside of safe zones (aka towns) are dangerous.
Battle mechanics it involves having 9 characters on the protagonists' side of the field:
The battle party: These 3 characters are lined up on the first row and just like any RPG characters they fight using abilities and such. This is your first line of defense.

The support Party: This single character is lined up in the second row, in charge of navigation and other support abilities. The world outside is dangerous such as a forest filled with poison gas, so the support character sets up an energy field where battles can take place without the environment interfering. If the support character falls in battle you will have no map, no energy field (so if you are in a poison filled forest you take damage every turn during battle), and most enemies can set up their own energy field (if they get the pre-emptive strike) which prevents any escaping from battle if the support character remains dead.

The musical party: These 5 characters are lined up on the third row. Each character is unique because they can play different instruments, sing or even rap (LOL) and some characters can play more than one instrument. These characters provide the battle music and you can change the music mid battle. Depending on which characters are added to the party you have access to different songs (e.g., if your characters have rock instruments you can play an awesome rock song, if the song involves vocals but you don't have a character in your band who sings you can't use that song). The songs provide effects during battle (example a slow ballad has a chance of putting enemies to sleep if it is playing at the start of battle, if the band is all female and they play an empowering female anthem all female battle characters get a boost in stats as long as the song is playing). The musical characters share HP in the form of a barrier and if it is broken during battle, they must step out for the entire fight which means no battle music and no bonus effects which can put you at a disadvantage (and let's face it silent battles are boring).

I actually think a combination of Mega Man Legends and Starforce/Battle network would be a good Idea for the next Mega Man game. It works like this:
1.* GAMEPLAY BASICS*:Still a 3rd person adventure game with a vast open futuristic world to explore. This is a era of advance technology, for both basic electronics and robotics. Plenty of secrets and side quests
2.COMBAT:Hybrid of how it works in Legends and Starforce with combat being real time with better dodging techniques and the shield from Starforce but weapons other than the Mega buster are cards that Mega Man equips( Sword arm, Elec Knuckles), while each attack type(buster shots, sword attacks, and fisticuffs) all have dedicated buttons. Cards come it the form of different attacks, better gear, and powers.
3.MANEUVERABILITY: This one sounds weird but it helps quicken the pace of combat and moving about the world itself. You stay in standard robot form (with a vehicle maybe) but you can also interact with electronics and enter the digital world as well. (kinda like how you Wave Change in the Starforce series and how the Video power works from inFAMOUS Second Son.)
After these three things though I got nothing else like whats the story like and what kinda powers there should be in the game or even what Mega Man should look like. But what do you guys think?

I already posted this idea in another thread but I'll do it here anyways.

A game that plays like Superstar Saga, but IMO would be better. An multiplayer RPG game that makes fun use of the Gamepads touch controls. This games all about teamwork. I have 2 different similar ideas, actually.

1.BATTLE:Alright, so the battles aren't like your ordinary RPG. As I said, they're similar to Superstar Saga, but more fun. Let's say you're with 3 friends, you're on the gamepad and your friends on the Wiimote or other controllers. You enter a battle, and it's your friends turn. (remember, you are on the gamepad) You're friends have special attacks and standard attacks, which are something like a normal sword attack or a fireball attack for example. They're turn is over, and now it's you're turn.
You choose a special attack, or a team attack. The special attacks are very simple, something like fireballs. The team attacks are way more fun and as said in the name, you attack with your team. However, to get the team attack, you must full this energy bar. (The more damage you do each time the faster it fulls)

The gamepad user now has a list of team attacks, and when you choose one, you must draw something. That drawing of yours aids your teammates in their attacks. For example, you draw a crack in the ground, when your done, your friends must either shake their wiimote (if they're using one) or spinning the control stick in circles really fast (just like in Mario Party N64). While doing this, it causes an earthquake to happen for example. With this move you (the Gamepad user) doesn't have to do anything, but in other moves he has to do different things (like steering the gamepad, yelling or saying something in the gamepad ETC.)

2.OVERWORLD The overworld isn't simple either, again the gamepad user must either draw things, say things ETC. Not the whole time, tho. The gamepad user helps in conflicts, like when a bridge is broken, or you need to wake someone up or something like that.

I have lots of ideas that can only work for the 3DS or Wii U.

for one, I have this idea called Touche

Title of the game: Touche
Author:Artwark
copyright information:n/a

Game concept: The game is a puzzle rpg game which involves two main characters though some others will be playable as well but not major.

Demographic:The game is focused mainly for those who are a fantic of role playing games and for those who wish to experiment with the unique game mechanics.

Feature set:
1.Control two characters with one solving puzzles and the other battling in this RPG.
2.Why not let the one solve puzzles recover...So the one fighting can recover!
3.Use fast track option so that the one in need can be focused more!

Game mechanics: It is an RPG game as well as puzzle based. At first players control Prince Jornne and Prince Thornne who have their own paths.

When controlling the characters there are two options. At first both the characters are controlable where both will move the same directions and cannot be moved seperately. The other way is as the game progresses, The player will recieve an amulet which allows the player to control characters seperately.

In the battles, both princes will fight two enemies. Sometimes both will fight each other or at different areas where events happen simultaneously. Each prince has a style of battle. For instance, Jornne has the ability to attack, defend, use magic, run and use items. Jornne's magic is light and doubles the damage when striking it against dark enemies.

Thorne can do the same things as what Jornne does. However his offence and defence stats are higher than him. His dark moves are doubled when facing holy enemies.

During the battle modes, the player controls both the princes in battle. The prince who touches a monster gets to face the monster whereas the other prince gets to face phantom pirates who are just a clone of the monsters but are more darker and carry swords . Monsters when defeated give exp whereas Phantom Pirates when defeated give money. When one of the main princes faints, the monsters will merge with the phantom pirates doubling their strength forcing the other prince to fight them both but if the enemies are defeated, the other prince gets both exp and money whereas the one who faints doesn’t although he can still fight in the next battle and can still be moved in the outside area.

As the game progresses, Thornne will obtain the Fusions Bolt which allows him only to swap stats with Jornne such as Attack, Defense, HP, Magic,Luck, Money and Leveling up as well during both battles and outside areas.

In some cases the player can use fast track for attacks, magic, recovery etc without the player doing it manually.

This is another one I posted on a different thread. This one is about a pokemon MMO.

Another thing I want that for some reason they haven't done is a Poke'mon MMO or just a main game for the console. In the game you can pick how you'll interact with the world like you wanna be a Professor then you start of as an apprentice then research pokemon and have like research battles like in X and Y then become your own Professor. They should let you interact with the world in your own way like letting you be a Breeder, Nurse, or a swimmer and have being the champion mean more than you beat the game get ready for little post game content, and have your own gym in your town where people can challenge you that would make for an awesome game.
