This is too much for me, man. It would be like, the ultimate dream for my Wii U. I guess it wouldn't be as awesome as a brand new game in the series, but still.
This is why I'll probably start avoiding discussing this rumor. My heart can't take being teased like this, only to see every glimmer of hope crushed in the near future.

The fact that Mother 3 was directly acknowledged at an event broadcasted to the people in 2014 America means that Nintendo hasn't been completely ignoring the Mother/Earthbound series.

Another piece of evidence is the flow chart for #TheTimeisNow specifically had Earthbound as one of the parts when there were many bigger games that could've taken its place like NSMBU, SLW, S&ASRT or given W101 its own section.
If it's true I don't think we'll have to wait until February, a Nintendo Direct is very likely to occur next week and remember what appeared this time last year. Of course it was Hyrule Warriors, a huge reveal as for the first time ever outside of Smash you could actually play as LoZ characters that weren't Link!

oh how i know lz loves the mother/earthbound series so much. he loves my avatar and right now im playing mother 3 as hard as i can on my tv via gamecube game boy player using a snes controller.

If by "nothing" you mean "a new Mother game coming", then you are correct.
