I wonder if Nintendo intends to do something with the 3DS to make it along the lines of DS generations...
1) 3DS 2) 3DS Lite (or something like that) 3) 3DS Ultra (with bigger memory, maybe)

Unfortunately, the temptation for me to go out and buy the 1st model off the shelf is too large for me to sustain...so it looks like I might be blowing a few hundred bucks per new model.

I Have my original DS. However the DSi XL was what got me to upgrade. I use both of them. It is handy for Pokemon games. The original imports GBA Pokemon to pearl and then to heart gold on the XL. the only disadvantage to the larger screen is that you have to go further whack-a-mole time mini games. I didn't do lite or the DSi because I found them too small for my hands.
