Yeah the computer AI cheats a bit I think. They always tend to know what you're going to do before you do it. The online multiplayer is the best part of the game.
I woudent say the AI cheats 70% of the strategy is trying to predict the enemys moves witch isent that hard once you know who can do what and since the AI isent going to make any stupid moves like real boys it's defently going to be a more of a challenge. I just played a few online matchs and utterly crushed my enemys, I'm aparently preety good at this game
Clunky stylus controls knocked it down as did the fact that I would have liked to have seen more monsters. It's also not nearly as good a solo experience as it is if you go online with it. Solid, but a few tweaks would have helped. Still a solid release, especially for 500 points.
A Dpad option wouldn't have been a terrible thing - full stylus control on a grid game like this isn't perfect which is why they left it out of FFTA2 (in Japan anyway, though in NA they added it, but left the Dpad controls in tact) and Valkyrie Profile. It's not that bad (to me anyway - an occasional bounce-back of a unit, but it's not that often), but it's not perfect either.
Maybe "slightly" clunky would be better. Not enough to ruin the experience and adequate. I would have liked to have had a d-pad option, but it's not the end of the world.
I'll not since it's hard to notice, but you can play up to 4 players with 1 system. When you're setting up a solo match, you can turn the AI off with a check mark button in the top right of the screen (as your picking the computers monsters.
So this game has multicart play, wifi play and single system play. Pretty good if you ask me.
