For the "Green Mode" you think it would be a good idea to change it wit the 3D Depth Slider. Some games needed to be played on different contrasts.

The 'green mode' should represent what it actually looked like on the GB. They should also be adding GBC support (colour palettes) for each GB title (ie. A GBC emulation for GB games). Also local wireless multiplayer. I wouldnt expect any of that to happen ever though.

No kidding, personally I'd totaly rather play in green mode than Black & white...Black & white...is well, black & white. no color to speak of, plus you get that nifty nostalgic monochrome pea soup 'original' gameboy effect with the green screen. problem is, as everybody knows is Nintendo didn't impliment it correctly resulting in detail drowning which makes the games look worse graphically...Yet i find the green look itself to be more pleasing to the eyes rather than the duller Black and white look. But as is, the detail drowning ruins it for me.

An update definitly would be nice....You'd think Nintendo would of been on this earlier or got it right the first time. Also, a Gameboy Color 'color' emulation for Black & white GB games would be nice too!

No, that actually gets you "Original Game Boy Resolution" mode.

You can change color at any time by holding the shoulder buttons and pressing Y.

Ya....original game boy 'Wrist Watch' resolution that is. Technically if you leave the image on default you get a screen size that's even slighter bigger than what you'd get on the Gameboy Color, which also has a far less sharp and blown up look to it considering the 3DS's native res is a lot higher than the GB's. Big suprise!

Either way, at least the default screen size is in league with it's original 'screen size' I don't care how crisp/clear the 'original game boy resolution' mode is, the size of the screen which is comparable again to a freakin' wrist watch screen completely hiders the experience and impact of the title. lol but to each their own, which is why we have the options in the first place.

But ya...A green Contrast adjuster would be pretty gnarly nintendo, that way i can actually see background detail and the like instead of it being mergered and drowing in a piss puddle of green monoschrome soup. lol

I had a cousin who passed a way about a month ago. So I really remember the times we had especially with the Gameboy. So the Green mode (and the game Donkey Kong which is the first game I plan too get) are very special to me. I really think the depth slider should be used for this, it would feel natural. The 3D mode for the original resolution isn't really necessary. What if they had different skins for the Gameboy Color/Pocket. Anyways I don't have a 3DS yet, will be getting Midnight Purple. Pretend it's a Gameboy Color/Advance.

Lack of SGB and GBC, lack of Game Link, and related to GBC: Balloon Kid (Japan gets a GBC upgraded version. Nintendo could offer the rest of us a choice of paying extra for the upgrade as an "import" release or regular for the "nostalgic" version, but nope. Though I think DKL3 is the only game with that predicament, whenever that game gets released.) ... Nintendo just doesn't "get" the mistakes they're making (sure they probably think they're being cost-effective by leaving out features they don't think people want, but they're just devaluing the potential of the VC.).

Well to be honest if they did add all of those features I would buy a lot more GB titles, especially the multiplayer ones.

After experiencing the wonderful 'Game Gear' VC options....I'm baffled that Nintendo hasn't doen something simular with the Gameboy and GBC VC.
It's annoying enough that you have to hold down a button combo, or turn off and then turn back on to alternate between the Portable 1:1 Pixel GB/GBC effect or the default normal. Where as the GameGear VC has touch screen control options that you can disable and enable whenever you please!

What the GB/GBC VC needs is a touch screen/stylus controlled monochrome green CONTRAST slider so we can actually see the detail properly instead of it being a complete drowned out definition-less-nothing. And even though the blur effect with the monochrome green effect properly emulates the original gameboy experience, i'd personally love an option to beable to turn the Blur 'off' or on, like you can with the game gear.

Game Boy VC Update

• Touch screen/stylus controlled options on the fly 'like' the Game Gear VC options
• A Monochrome Green CONTRAST touch screen Slider adjuster
• Ditch the silly annoying Button combo holding and have the 1:1 Pixel change or 'normal default' screen size in the touch screen Menu
• The option to turn the Blur effect 'off' or 'on' when the original Monochrome green effect is on....Instead of having to play it with just blur.
• For Game Boy 'Color', to have the ability to change the color of the Gameboy Color itself when in portable 1:1 pixel mode. Lime Green, Berry Red, Banana Yellow ect ect. As is, Purple is hands down the best color choice and Nintendo themselves even knew it hehe.

I don't own a 3DS, but if/when I do, I wouldn't buy any GB/GBC games that are missing the multiplayer function until they fix that. Also, I would be willing to buy a Super Game Boy channel on Wii for 800 points so that I could play the GB games on my TV.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Just play the dang games and enjoy them!

I don't think Nintendo needs to do that much with the Game boy games, but if they could add one thing, I would be happy if they didn't make it so blurry on the green mode in full screen. Sure, it's fixed when it's at the original resolution, but I kinda like some games to look decent on full screen. If Black and White looks good on full screen, why not green?

I agree. If I was in charge of Nintendo and their operations, I would make an update that does this very thing.

@Geonjaha: In general what I noticed, especially here, is that Nintendo releases a service, and everyone complains about it. It seems that many fans are simply ungrateful that the service existed in the first place and only focus on how bad it is. No VC games in two months? Forget that we had some in the first place and only complain about the current "lack" of games!

Yeah, I wish they looked like the screenies on NL. It's Nintendo's neglecting little things like this — that require so little effort — that pisses me off. They're just dumping a rom on us, including the barest of features, and charging 3-4 bucks a pop. When you consider what you can buy for the same price on other systems, it's embarrassing.

Been very disappointed with the 3DS VC. Oh well, at least Link's Awakening looks and plays awesome on it, haha.
