Now that the Ambassadors have the NES Metroid, I think it's time for Nintendo to give everyone else a Metroid game. The only one they can do right now is Return of Samus. What do you think?

I don't

I think that they'd better add it, and I don't see why they wouldn't :3

It's already been rated and said to come out by quarter 4 of this year.
By Oct,Nov or Dec we should have it.
I'm pretty excited for it since my original cart was stolen.
Been dying to have it back.
Won't be long now!

Never played it, and from what I've seen it looks slow-paced and boring.

Slow-paced, perhaps. (I can't remember for sure.) But it really was a fantastic game, and the introduction of the Spider Ball in itself means the "boring" label will never quite stick.

Everyone being...one person so far who just thinks it might look a little dull?

Metroid II is better than the original but the graphics/atmosphere suffer.

Metroid II will be released for sure. Found it way better than the first. I never finished the game before only got 20-something metroids, but I really love that spiderball. Hopefully it will be used again in future 2D metroid games.

Boring? What the hell man?
This game is better than the original IMO. Sure the areas can be a little dull but everything else is great.
Catchy music, The introduction of the Spider ball and it's a much more forgiving game.
If it wasn't for Metroid 2 I might never have become a fan.
Don't be so quick to judge until you've played it.

It does looks boring and dull, haha.

I'm excited to play it anyway.

Edit: I take it back... Just looked it up on YouTube and it looks frickin' awesome. :O

I played the original Metroid and thought it was terrible. Poorly composed music (aside from Kraid's theme, everything else sounds so amateurish), floaty controls, dull graphics, confusing level design, etc. Zero Mission was a huge improvement over the original.

Okay well when you play a game, I'll listen (probably wont) on your thoughts about it. Otherwise don't diss it when you haven't played it.

@ tendoboy 1984
I agree with you mostly on much of what you thought of the original Metroid.
The Gameboy sequel adresses alot of those issues. It's much easier to get into and less frustrating.
They finally let you recharge your life before saving so you don't start with a lousy 30 units of life.
Only downside really is the lack of a map and slightly repetitive looking areas.
And yes Zero mission was definitely a much more enjoyable game than the original.

I used to think the same, until I read this (and later beat the game).

Huh, one of the few things I like about the game is its music.

It's coming to Japan next week. Expect it elsewhere reasonably soon, there's not much of a backlog for 3DS VC titles.
