I completed Warriors Way a few months back, I thought it was insanely difficult. I had to have over 2 million soldiers in my army to defeat the last boss. One of my friends got the game and to my surprise he beat in a month with only 150,000 soldiers. Any idea why his version of the game takes so many fewer soldiers? I'm halfway through my second run but I need more that 3.7 million soldiers to be equal to the next opponent and I only have 3 million. Anyone else run into this?
I think I've seen it mentioned somewhere on these forums that the number of soldiers in an enemy's army is in relation to the amount of castle upgrades you do. So it's possible to race through it easily by not upgrading your castle, or so I'm led to believe.

It actually depends on how many soldiers you have that determines how much your opponent will have, not your castle rank. I know for the last one, it's approximately double the soldiers you have when you first make it to that point. If you get there with 1 million soldiers, the enemy will have 2 million. If you only get there with 150,000, the enemy will only have 300,000.
When I played through it the first time, I had around 225,000 soldiers, and the enemy had around 460,000.

The amount of soldiers you have when you meet the Emperor is 8 times your army size going into the fight. It's actually a disadvantage to have a big army because it's tough to buy enough reinforcements to make a difference.

Not if you max out your army size at 9,999,999 IIRC then everyone just has that army size.

This is closer to what I had going into my last fight. It was about 530k for the emperor and I had about 385k. I also heard it had to do with both size of your army and castle upgrades. I held off on a couple all the way to the end.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

Well yes, obviously the Emperor maxes out at 9,999,999, but nobody could buy enough soldiers to get even close to that amount. The only reason I hit 9,999,999 was because I played huge armies in the game itself. I think I maxed out towards the end of my second runthrough; play coins wouldn't have gotten me that size of an army.
