Topic: "Self respecting 20 somethings are too old for Nintendo Handlhelds"~Playstation CEO

Paraphrasing on the title of this thread. Just read an interesting interview with Sony Playstation CEO, Jack Tretton and thought I would share. Interested to hear what some people's thoughts are on this.

When it comes to the Playstation Portable, Tretton doesn't necessarily view Nintendo's DS handheld family, which he calls the "Game Boy experience," as competition. (Though, it's worth nothing that Nintendo's DS devices have sold more than 146 million units worldwide, while the PSP currently tops out at 67 million.)

"Our view of the 'Game Boy experience' is that it's a great babysitting tool, something young kids do on airplanes, but no self-respecting twenty-something is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those," he says. "He's too old for that."

Apparently I have self-respect issues. Nintendo is worth the suffering.

But yeah, the guys a jerk for saying that. Probably lost a lot of sales that way.

Yeah, I read about this a day or two ago. Ridiculous. Badmouthing the competition just shows he isn't confident enough in his own products.

So apparently I dont respect myself... What a letdown. He's just scared that the 3DS will eat the NGP alive like the DS did to the PSP. "Yummy"

He is right, I would never pull out a Gameboy on an airplane, I would be to busy playing my 3DS!

This is why I've always sided with Nintendo. They aren't jerks like this guy.
Now If you'll excuse me I'm gonna go lose some self respect by playing 3DS.
