Short question, probably posed here (or elsewhere) a million time, but I have a hard time googling the unambiguous answer: does it make sense to play Sun/Moon first and then USun/UMoon? Or is it ok to just play USun/UMoon? Like: are the latter actual new games or more like the 'Crystal' was to Gold/Silver?

I know I'm a bit lazy here, but after trying +/- 5 results on google and not finding a fulfilling answer, I decided to try my luck on the forums...

Having played both Games (Sun/Moon and Ultra Sun/Moon) I have to say that the newer one is definitely the better of the two. The story has some very different plot points but overall it is the same story. I feel the game runs better and it's more organized. I almost wish I had skipped the first ones and just played the second to not go through the story 4 times total, but meh gotta catch'em all.

A tip for trading Pokemon via the gts, the person who wants the rare Pokemon should be the one initiating the trade.

For example: If you put up a Dragonite for a Rattata you'll likely lose the Dragonite to someone else, but if you put a Rattata for a Dragonite then the transaction will be a lot safer.

@Yosheel Genius! @karlosUltramoon so post something into the GTS and I'll give you a GIble for it. Already have it bred, hatched and ready to trade. Just post here what's your name in game and that you posted it and I'll hop on asap.

I'm getting close to finishing up the main campaign of US/UM and getting back to breeding a living dex and I was thinking, the different pattern designs for Vivillon can I breed that? Is it random? Anyone know? Any breeding tips for the variable design Pokémon is greatly appreciated.

As far as I know they're decided by region.

I wouldn't bother with a live vivillion dex, but maybe that's just me.

There's also special patterns that were released as events.

To add to this, Meowph/Yosheel means real world regions, not the in-game regions. While not impossible, this would be VERY difficult.

I have both versions, but I don't plan to 100% beat both of them. I do however want all the special catches from the game. So aside from all the legendary wormhole pokemon, necrozma and Solgaleo/Lunala, the extra Cosmog, zygarde and his cells, totem versions, tapu pokemon and the Pikachu that knows surf; am I missing anything?

@Juny I wish! I think the rumor is that he will be released with the new Pokémon movie this year. I haven't seen this Pokémon out yet though.

Is it worth buying ultra sun/moon for my old 3DSXL framerate wise? I’m kinda fired up for Pokemons after playing Crystal recently but don’t want spend money on a game that struggles on my dated hardware and certainly don’t want to buy new one just for this game.
