Topic: Monster Hunter Generations (Our Toothy Lord and Savior)

I think I'll use this demo as a chance to experiment with different weapons before the proper game releases. Can't wait to get back to hunting proper.

Yeah... I definitely liked the 4U demo better. The Horuhorururu fight is just... trash. There's so much more UI on the screen than I like, and there's that ugly confusion attack—no. Just no. No thank you.

@Tsurii it did take a bit but was totally fun, with these hunting style's its like learning a new weapon again haha. Its a bummer that it doesn't keep us in the room after the hunt xD

A major caveat about save data: http://game.capcom.com/manual/MH_Gen/en/contents1.html
"Performing the following actions will cause the game to become temporarily unplayable.
-Inserting the game into a different system and attempting to play
-Switching out the SD card with one that doesn't have extra data created by the system"

What's more...
"Performing the following actions will cause the game to become unplayable.
-Formatting the SD card
-Deleting the extra data from the SD card
-Selecting Format Save Data from the options menu"

So, yeah. Most likely done to shut down the rampant save hackers, but the used market for this game is kinda dead. Can you imagine somebody buying the game, only to be unable to play it because somebody returned it after firing it up? The only way to make it playable there would be a complete system data transfer.

That seems pretty draconian. I hope they don't pull that crap for the digital version.

Well, you can, on the same 3DS, if you use the other save files.

yeah but I prefer playing on the smaller New 3DS than the New 3DS XL that I'm getting my son.

I'm sure this will be good fun but somehow I get the feeling this is a step back for the series. I guess it needed some change though.

I'm ok with the CG intros, they're at least much better than normal intros that are in this game. Seriously don't know why they couldn't just stick to the 4U style of intros. :/

Oh wow. I recently lost all of the data on my SD card. Does that mean, if it happened again, I'd have a permanently unusable copy of Generations?

That's... really worrisome. Maybe I'll hold off on getting this.

I'm sure by unusable they just mean that save file system, it'll probably just act as a new game.
