Topic: Migrating All Pokemon to Pokemon Bank

I'm wondering if anyone has compiled a list of what games are needed to capture all of the Pokemon. The only game that can't be used in Pokemon Bank is Yellow. The others have been remade since the GBA and GBA games I should be able to migrate upwards to bank using DS Lite then 2 3DSs.

Is there a good list of this somewhere I'm not finding in my Google searches.

You cannot use Poké Transporter to directly transfer Pokémon to your Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games from any previous titles aside from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, or Pokémon White 2.

However, here are some steps you can follow to reach your goal.

Use the GBA Game Card slot on a Nintendo DS Lite or Nintendo DS to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Ruby, Pokémon Sapphire, Pokémon Emerald, Pokémon FireRed, and Pokémon LeafGreen to an area called the Pal Park in Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon HeartGold, or Pokémon SoulSilver.

Then, using two systems from the Nintendo DS family, transfer your Pokémon from Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, Pokémon Platinum, Pokémon HeartGold, or Pokémon SoulSilver to Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, or Pokémon White 2 using the Poké Transfer facility that exists within those games.

You cannot transfer Pokémon from Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver or Crystal to Pokémon Bank.

Thanks that is what I figured - because the remakes exist with FireRed etc. the only game left out of the party is really Yellow. I am curious if I need to have all of the games to get all of the Pokemon. I believe this is true because of the 1 or 2 special to each game. I'd get pretty close with FireRed, Platinum, HeartGold, and Black 2.

Perhaps a checklist is all I really need - should be simple enough to find. I can totally see Pokemon Bank Accounts being sold with every Pokemon once that launches

Yeah, So far as i know though there was no special Pokémon introduced in Yellow. So as long as you have game/s that will let you have a complete Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos.

Depending on how many times you want to go through you should only need HeartGold/SoulSilver, Diamond/Platinum/Pearl and Black/White or Black2/White2... though that is excluding event legendaries.

Yeah, I only just got back into it. Played Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal when they were released, skipped the others till Black 2, now am working my way through X and Y... Need a DS or DSi so I can get the ones for GB Advance

I picked up a DS Lite because I wanted the Phantom Hourglass one - I was amazed that Nintendo used to have 2 cartridge slots - so amazing. I'll probably be picking up a GBA that is backlit with a glass screen to play the GBA games - as that form factor looks amazingly comfortable

I always wondered if it would be possible to say bring the Lv. 100 Charzard you raised in Red over to Gold, then somehow transfer it to one of the Gen 3 games, do the safari transfer, and have them eventually in Gen 5, ready for Gen 6.

Sorry but no, the oldest you can go are the GBA games. (Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, Fire Red, Left Green)

It seems like they will notify you if you miss the fee, and you'll have a set amount of time to withdraw your Pokemon...so that's good in case someone forgets.

Also worth noting that through trade you can get pretty far. I would assume that once the data migration is live you'll be able to get anything you want. Expect to see all of the harder to obtain but breedable pokemon to be incredibly abundant. Legendaries will be harder to get but expect people to start making stupid offers with them.

So if you work at it you could probably get them all with just one game now that online trading has opened up.

This isn't exactly an answer, but it could solve a problem many of us have.
