You weren't kidding, trying to do a Kirby run of Wood Man with the Atomic Fire is HARD. I find myself tanking a lot of hits to save ammo for the wolves. You really need to get lucky with the health/ammo drops.
When you get to the part of the stage where the birds drop eggs, I find that useful for grinding pickups.

Yeah, that's the best solution I've come up with too, but even then I have almost no ammo (and sometimes low health) so it's killer. The fact that the pickups sometimes disappear due to sprite limitations is also pretty maddening!

Well both the Gameboy games and the NES games are named Mega Man 2, 3, and 4 so generally people use Roman Numerals for the GB games but I could be wrong.

I dont know about that I use Roman numerals to talk about both I just add Gameboy or GB if I am talking about the Gameboy ones.

I think I figured out how to get around the sprite limitations. Kirby run is go!

As much as I liked the first Megaman, Iceman's level always turns me off to it. Still I am thinking of picking it up but I know the moment I get to Iceman's stage I will end up turning the game off.

@Wavester: Oh I love the 3DSXL, and I agree the picture online dont do justice, thats how I got mine. I have the flare red 3DS and while yes I love the sparkle red of it the blue for the 3DS is a really nice shade of blue. I wasnt going to get the 3DSXL because of how cheap it looked compared to the awesomeness of the 3DS buy after seeing it at the store on display I noticed that the pics online didnt do it justice. I than proceeded to buy that bad boy faster than Danny Tanner buys a new vacuum if you know what I mean. I love playing the VC games on it as well as watching Netflix late at night but OMG Resident Evil Revelations. Yeah totally worth the money IMO.

As for my friend code I dont have to many multiplayer games online I think all I have is MK7 and NSMB2. Mostly what I play are the VC games. Nothing like having Megaman II on the go.

I'd say that 5 and 6 are by far the easiest games in the Classic series. None of them are too hard as long as you know what you're doing.

@WildWavester
What? You think Fire Man is hard? And Ice Man's stage is a breeze with the Magnet Beam, without it though......
I see you're also rocking Castlevania: The Adventure. Man, aside from the awesome first stage music, i'm not enjoying that game much. You move so dang slow it's not even funny.

For me 2 and 3 followed by 4 are the easiest for me but thats because those are the 3 that I played the most growing up. I played 5 a few times on the NES when I could rent it and 6 I never got the chance to play until the AC on Gamecube, heck that was the main reason I bought the AC lol.

As for Iceman stage even with the magnet beam I still have a hard time in that stage.

This game is great to finally have portable. It's still one of the best NES games. That music and level design is still phenomenal and fun to this day.

Can't wait for 3! (My personal favorite game in the classic series)

Mega Man 2 is far better than 1. The level design in better, the music is more memorable, there are more power-ups, the bosses are better, it's less difficult, and it's overall just better. I've never played Mega Man 3 but I eventually will.

Games I'm playing currently: Legend of Zelda: A Link Betweeen Worlds, Tearaway
Games I'm excited for: Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros. 4, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8

The spikes instantly killing you even if you were just hit is kind of annoying, too. I think 2 has better balanced difficulty, a lot of the difficulty in 1 seems a bit unfair at times.

I am so happy to be able take this classic blast with me on the go. The level with the laser turrents in Dr. Wily's castle is still annoying, though. I always fail the first try and have to recharge my Crash Bombs. Then making it through the boss teleporter level is not easy either. I also do not like how the Metal Blade is useful against almost everything, while some other weapons are pretty useless. The easy mode doesn't make much of a difference either. It feels kinda rushed and unimportant. While not an easy game at all, even on hard mode this game is easier than most Mega Man games. That's actually what I like about it. It is much more suitable for newcomers to the series, making it more universally appealing than the much more challenging Mega Man 3. The added portability and VC save states make this the best version of the game so far.

Well decided to play Megaman II again since I dont have the money to spare for Megaman III at the moment, and I have to say that that run was probably the worst in all my times playing Megaman II well that I can remember anyways. A total of 3 game over screens two during the Quickman stage and one I cant believe I am saying this at the first Wily Fortress stage and than to top that a death on the Wily final form. For some reason my timing was really off.

Mega Man 2 is absolute perfection(aside from the slow ladder climbing and less zippity controls Vs Mega Man 3's), at least before you enter Dr.Wily's awful castle. I shut the game off every single time after i take down the 8th Robot master! MM1's castle was sooo much better and graphically more appealing with it's bright blue and orange color scheme. It's layout was pretty unique as well!

I honest dont remember much of Wily's castle in MM1. I have seen it in playthroughs like Rohman Mythril but I have only been to Wily's castle maybe 2 or 3 times. Might have to fix that here soon and when I get MM3 I will get MM1 as well.

Great game. Already have it on the Wii VC so I'll pass on the 3DS version. The only thing I didn't like about this one is the stupid boss where you have to use the bombs to blow up the walls to blow up the cannons. I always end up running out of bombs before the all the cannons are destroyed and am forced to kill myself so I can get more bombs. Pretty tedious.
