Today I was playing Kid Icarus and suddenly the "L" button stopped working. I tried to turn off the console but it seems that the "L" button is dead. I need to get some information about this:
1) Is this a common technical problem?
2) I have GBA and NES titles from the Ambassador Program in this 3DS.... if I purchase a new 3DS can I transfer those games? how?
3) What about my DSiWare and 3DS titles from the eShop? Can I transfer those?
Thanks for your help!

Try taking a can of compressed air and spraying it into the cracks around the L button sometimes dirt and dust may get into the cracks and using the compressed air will clean it out and make it good as new. If that doesn't work contact Nintendo about sending it in for repairs.

And I believe ambassador games cant be transferred but the DSi games can be.

Ambassador titles can be transferred, I transferred my son's system and everything copied over.

thanks ImDiggerDan! At least I know that if I get a new 3DS I can transfer my NES and GBA games.

This also happened to me while I was playing kid Icarus. I had to send my 3ds in for repair.

When you push the button, does it just not go in, or are you pushing it and it goes in but the game doesn't recognize it?
I had the first happen to me before with the R Button. It was stuck up, but I just pushed really hard and it got unstuck (been occassionally happening to me since the SNES days. Though on older consoles, it didn't require as much force to get the button to un-stick.)

This is why I recommend testing out your L and R buttons every day. If you do that it shouldn't happen again.
