Topic: Does your lower screen rim leave marks on upper screen?

This is the only big discrepancy i have with the 3DS's design The Raised rim/border on the inset lower screen always leaves a mark on my upper screen since its wide and the lower screen is not i think this a huge flaw in the system. You definitely need a screen protector for the upper screen or eventually that's going to rub and leave a wear mark in the plastic . Does this happen to anyone else's upper screen?

It happens to mine.

I just now realized that my circle pad leaves a brief mark on my top screen. Nothing a little cleaning cloth can't fix.

I noticed this a while ago as well, but it onl happens when I kinda slam the screen shut, not when I close it gently. And it's allways just a bit of dirt, nothing serious for now.

I've wondered about this too. But it just seems to be a bit of "sweat" so i don't think it will leave permanent marks on the top screen. knocks on wood

yup all touchy that little fellow. i'm still waiting for my Hori Screen Protectors (dammit Amazon, hurry up!!) but as said, just leave a cloth (go microfiber!) inside the closed system and everything is fine.

This happens to me too, but it doesn't concern me since cleaning fixes it

smart i'm going to start doing this until i get a new screen protector i miffed up applying the one i got to the top screen so i have to get another one.

@Skogar: id be careful cleaning it helps now but eventually it'll create rub marks that you wont be able to clean anymore.

So long as bits of grit don't get trapped between the rim and the top screen... not good!

Geez guys. All you people do is try and pick out problems with the 3DS. You dont actually talk about how great it is.

Putting the 3DS in a protective case should solve this most of the time. Also, be gentle when closing it as well. And if you're still not satisfied, a thin sheet of foam between the screens should suffice

@andy: Welcome to the internet. This should be nothing new really. Also, yay 3DS

Exactly how i noticed it. I have a small nick in the upper corner of my top screen right where the lower corner of the bottom rim sits i'm assuming something was there when i closed it and got it :/ thank goodness its just small enough to not notice unless the screen is 100% black. Definitely getting a screen protector today after work.

Oh i think the system is amazing! I play it alot at night the wife sits in bed and reads and i act like a fool wiggling around in bed playing face raiders or pilot wings lol. I love the system just making people aware of something they may not notice is all. Pretty sure there are multiple posts talking about how much fun and enjoyment people are getting out of their systems.

The markings appear on my 3DS too, both the circle pad and the lower screen.

I get the marks too but they shouldn't be permanent unless you're forcefully closing the 3DS. It's just from the sweat of your fingers touching the bottom screens border. I would get a screen protector just incase but the bubbles you get and frustration of putting them on isn't worth it. Just don't let any careless little kids play with it and you should be fine.
