Ok, so, this is quite a difficult problem to explain, but I'll try:
So, I have my old 3DS and my 3DS XL.
On the old one, for some reason I have no network ID, but I have downloaded tons of games.
On the XL one, I do have a network ID, and I have also downloaded some games there.
What I want, is for all the old content from my old 3DS to be transfered to my 3DS XL.

The problem is, I tried to do a system transfer from my old to the XL, but it said that because there were already an ID on the XL it could not be done.
So, I was wondering, if this is possible:
If I do a system transfer from my XL over to my old 3DS (deleting the ID on my XL), and then do the system transfer AGAIN from my old 3DS back to my XL.
Would that work? Would I still have all games from both systems?
If not, is there even a way to do this?
Please tell me.

Since whatever you try will risk wiping some games I'd contact Nintendo first and get their advice

Rimmer: "Look, I think we've all got something to bring to this conversation, but I think that from now on the thing you should bring is silence."

Homer: "Oh people can come up with statistics to prove anything Kent. Forfty percent of all people know that."

Well, why didnt you do a system transfer as soon as you got the XL ? That would have eliminated the problem alltogether...
The following is just an idea, dont take it for granted:
Are both devices connected to your Club Nintendo account (Not the NNID) ? The system transfer rewrites your software licenses to the current 3DS models system ID. All software is bound to this ID, while the Club Nintendo account keeps track of your purchases.
So, technically:
Systemtransfer XL -> 3DS should write all your purchased licenses from your XL over to the system ID of your 3DS, while everything bought on your 3DS stays unchanged and should still be downloadable afterwards (The system transfer overwrites everything on the target system) as long as youve used the same Club Nintendo account on both systems.
Then, get all your software back on the 3DS system together, connect it with your NNID and transfer it back over to the XL.
Technically, that should work, but i would also highly recommend calling Nintendo to not risk loosing your purchases.

For future reference: Do a system transfer FIRST, then use the new system. Otherwise its just a mess.

Well, I guess I didn't know about it or think about at that time. And no, I don't have clubnintendo, since it's not available in my country.
I have sent a mail to nintendo support, hoping that they can help me, but thanks anyway.

Club Nintendo isnt universal ? I thought that the account was available everywhere, just not the bonus programs offered with it.
Well, best of luck then, i hope that they can help you

You can do a system transfer from the Nintendo Network ID system to the one without the NNID one. You can not perform a system transfer if the target system has a NNID. So you will be able to do it. The only thing is you will have to wait 7 days between transfers. Just go to support.nintendo.com and follow the instructions.
