Topic: Club Nintendo coins from eShop purchases

I'd like to ask about this, but if I purchase an eShop game, do the coins from the purchase (if applicable) automatically get added to my account, or do I have to do a registration survey beforehand? If a survey is required, how long does that survey last before it expire? One other question. I recently got an XL (not registered yet), and I was planning on getting Luigi's Mansion. If I register both of these before 4/30, I'd be eligible for a free game of my choice from the selection. Does this free game also come with coins as if I had bought it separately?

The whole point of this topic is because right now, I have Platinum status with Club Nintendo for this time period (which ends June 30th, as the new cycle start July 1st), and I'm trying to save up as many coins as I can to be used for that next period. I'm thinking the XL registration adds the coins automatically while games have a time limit on registration via survey, but I also think those particular surveys don't last long. I have some Post-Play surveys that expire July 22nd, which is well within the limit for being used in the next cycle, but what about Registration surveys?

I am not for sure, but I think you have to do the survey for the points on eshop games. I don't buy retail titles on eshop, but I do a lot of digital only games, and my points were added after my survey I believe. I buy way too many games to worry about whether I'll get Platinum status next year. None of my friends are Club N members so I grab their codes from their games, lol.

Gotta catch them... eh, nevermind.

@Zodiak13

Were those Post-Play surveys, or were they Registration surveys? If the latter, how long were they available? 1 month? 2 months?

The registration surveys for eShop games have to be completed within 7 or 30 days after you've downloaded them, depending on the game. I've heard the free game code does include coins, and that the code doesn't expire, so you could hold onto the code till the end of June before redeeming it and being forced to do the registration survey. That's what I'm planning to do with mine.

Post play surveys. 2 months I believe. I did one today for Legend of the River King, thought is said good til june. Wish I would have payed closer attention. I kinda wish I kept my codes for the games I buy 2 of, which is alot, cause Club N won't let me register 2 of the same product. Maybe I coulda gave them to some of you people.

Is that just a seperate account, cause its not my sons games, he has his own account. I just have 3 of the XL's and use them for different things, one is used only for Mario Clock. The other 2 I play and sometimes keep around to multiplay with friends that are over. Can I add this child acct on my own personal account then??

So, I'd have the free game, but will have to wait until after the cycle ends to download the free game and put coins towards the next cycle? I guess I can do that. I've got some games I can play until then. But in my case with the XL and LM:DM, the registration surveys will have expired before the cycle ends if I want the free game, correct?

Only 2 months for Post-Play surveys? I have 2 Post-Play surveys on my To-Do list right now (Zen Pinball 2 and Megaman 3, neither came with Registration surveys), and they both expire on July 22. I got them both recently too.

Your probably right, like I said I didn't pay close attention. I see the survey, I do the survey, end of story.

I'd do the same thing if I wasn't at Platinum status right now.

I've had that for a while (platinum status), but it didn't seem to take too much to get it, am I wrong?? Cant remember how many coins it initially took.

Are these surveys available only for American 3DS consoles? If not, where can I find them? I downloaded Mario Kart 7 and Harmoknight yesterday, but I didn't notice any surveys.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes!

Ah! Sorry to double post, but now I know for sure! I purchased Harmo Knight when it launched, and the product registration was available until April 27th - so about a month. Though it was also worth 20 coins, so that extended time may have been because it was a more expensive title. Then once I finished the product registration, the post-play survey came up, so that also must take less than a month to become available. It says I have until July 26th to do it, so again, LOTS of time to complete those. It's the product registrations that you want to check for ASAP after buying something.
