I'm interested in the ambassador status. My local Gamestation doesn't appear to be selling very many 3DSes at all. I was initially under the impression that the ambassador-ness was determined by whether or not you'd connected to the shop in time, but this doesn't appear to be the case judging by the tools that have arrived in other areas (not Europe from what I've seen, sadly, though I'm keeping my eye on the news!)
So, is it possible that, if I'm lucky, I got an old pre-price-drop 3DS, even though I paid the lower price?
To give you an idea on how little my local Gamestation seems to be selling - I got the pre-order bonus when I bought Loz:OoT 3D. This was on the 18th of August.

Anyway. The tools that are being released by Nintendo are simply to check your status as a Nintendo 3DS Ambassador. Also - in some regions, and not North America as far as I'm aware - it allows those that bought a 3DS prior to the price drop but were unable to connect to Nintendo eShop to join the program as long as they have some evidence that they bought their 3DS prior to the price drop. Regardless of your region, if you didn't pick up a Nintendo 3DS before August 12, you can't join the programme.
click the "how to" link on the left, then the "confirm your eligibility" link. then enter your serial number, BUT LEAVE OUT THE LAST DIGIT (INSIDE THE BOX), EVEN THO IT TELLS YOU TO INCLUDE IT.
and about that ds2 with dual analogs, its only a rumor so far.
it wouldnt surprise me to see a 3ds without the 3ds screen for cheaper, but certainly not soon. some kind of 3DS lite. they always do, even with the Wii !
they are not going to make a 3DS without 3D. the whole point of the system is glasses free 3D. We already have systems that don`t have 3D. The whole thing would be backwards if you asked me and makes no sense.
