In case anybody who reserved it in-store at GameStop in December or earlier this month, I thought I'd post about what I found out today when I called about choosing your system color. Not sure if this is the policy for all GameStops. But at mine, if you already reserved it, you get the black 3DS by default. I was told if I wanted aqua blue, I'd have to come into the store and change it (not allowed to do it over the phone). But, I want black (as my ancient DS is Teal Nintendogs edition so close to aqua blue), so I'm keeping my bu-double t parked here!

We will probably just buy a blue one for now until they release a pink color for my wife. I don't know how good sharing this will do... but we still have two DSis. I have one preordered via Amazon.com at the moment.
At a Gamestop here in Winnipeg They won't let you reserve the colour. They will only let you choose a colour when you go an pick it up. I already sent an email to complain.
Erm...hold on...since I'm pre-ordering two (one for me and one for my sister, lol). When I pre-order them I just tell them to change one of them to blue? Er....ugh, so confusing, lol

Ah, interesting. I called in today and the guy told me I'd have to come in and choose my color also even though I pre-ordered my 3DS 3-4 weeks ago.
So, I went in today (and got a job at Taco Bell in the process!!) and it turns out that my pre-order was default in Black so I simply changed it. The guy seemed really interested in the system himself and wanted to see a sample kiosk to be set up here. He's just a little unsure of how SSFIV3D will turn out because he plays the the console versions with an arcade stick (I need to play TvC with the stick too), but has high hopes for it.
So, yeah, anyways for those who wants to choose their color, you're going to have to go to the store personally rather than just call in as mentioned. I also pre-ordered Kid Icacrus after he convinced me to make sure I have a game on pre-order. I doubt the games will be sold out, really, but I'll just secure my Kid Icarus if it even comes out on launch.
