(I'm sorry if this is in the wrong topic, I didn't knew where else to make it.)

I noticed today that somehow my Home Button effect the Touch Screen.
I took some pictures of it, which I'll leave the links of here for you to view. (Sorry for the bad quality. I used a phone to take the pictures.)

Here you can see the my finger is on the Home Button, and isn't touching the touch screen at all, but somehow still effects it.

Same thing for applications and games...

Also the same in-game.

I also noticed, while taking pictures, that if I hold the Home button long enough and then let go, it still effects the touch screen. (It does go away after a few seconds.)

When I go to the home menu while in-game and I press the Home button, it goes to the manual instead of resuming the game like normal.

Also, when pressing the Power button and going to the, I guess, "Sleep Mode screen(?)" when I try pressing the Home button there to go back to the Home menu, sometimes I need to press the button multiple times for it to work and sometimes I get it on the first try.
I would also like to add that I recently cleaned the dirt on the system with a toothpick.

Hmm...I don't know what could be causing it, but have you tried recalibrating the touch screen? Nintendo recommends recalibration every time you clean the touch screen.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.

I just recalibrated it, and it didn't solve the problem.

It's a simple case of "it's too close to the screen".

Your finger is actually pushing the plastic around the button, and that plastic is pressing the screen.

Try to be careful with that, if you press TOO hard you may crack the screen. Aim for the center of the button, don't just push your finger on it.

It has been a few days now, and now my problem also seems to occur when I hit the center of the button.

Although it isn't dead center, still, I now have a harder time believing it's pushing plastic against the screen..

Well now THAT'S weird.

I can't even get the same effect unless I'm willingly overpushing the plastic around the button to do it.

You should contact Nintendo about it, it is definitely a problem with your system.

I would have said you're pushing the plastic on to the screen. But your recent photo states otherwise... I'd contact Nintendo if I were you, seems something is interfering with it somewhere along the line.

I'll contact Nintendo then, and hopefully they can do something about it.
Thank you all for trying to help, even if it didn't solve the problem.

Try and slip some paper underneath the plastic where the touch screen is. Put paper in there, then slide to the side. There might be something stuck underneath there. If nothing comes out, or you can't get whatever is in there, out, then call Nintendo.

EDIT: Also, make sure the paper won't get stuck. Slide the paper underneath the plastic on the touch screen by the home button.

It worked! No more problems.
Thank you so much! ^^
