Re: Random: Masahiro Sakurai Says He Prefers To Buy Video Games Digitally

I think the poll should include the option that it depends on the game.

I like the principle of 'physical' better - not having the game tied to the console so you can easily switch to another system, share with a friend, etc.

However, for games that we might want to play just spur-of-the-moment with family/friends, like Smash Bros or Mario Kart, it is really nice to have 'digital' to not have to change carts to do so.

And of course for indie games, for which producing physical carts would be too much of a burden, it is great that they can use digital means to distribute their games.

1000% agree with you, too. The standard New 3DS for me is the best size, the best feel, and the best overall handheld video game system ever. I was crushed when they weren't releasing it in NA, and then beyond thrilled when I got one for Black Friday (shortly after midnight online). Imported some Zelda cover plates for it, and, yeah, it can't be beat.

The Walmart store here (rural Virginia) only had 10 of them total, and there was a long line to get into the video game section where they were located. I looked over a barrier into that section about 40 minutes into the Black Friday sale, and only saw one (a white one) left. That line for video games probably had 70 people in it. If anyone MST/PST is going to try to get one, definitely go early! Why only 10 Nintendo?!

I picked up a AGS-101 from an ebay seller a few months ago for a little over $100 which works perfect, and I absolutely love it. If you are looking to get a GBA, and can afford a bit more, I think looking for a popular GBA seller would be a better way to go.

Well, I'm mixed on this. On one hand, I strongly oppose piracy (of any game that is available for sale), but on the other hand, I really want to play Super Metroid on my 3DS. If Nintendo sold it for even $20, I'd snatch it in a second, but if not, I hope someone can find a way to get a good SNES emulator running on a flashcart.
