@Peach64 I totally agree with you on that, specially when each game has a different story but with the same characters...also the fan greedy demands doesn't help. when is enough is enough, it's better not oversaturate it... he can always start something new like you say.
I think some users are being a little too harsh on The Last Of Us, it's a good game and have seen my brothers playing, I didn't play and I'm not interested since it doesn't appeal me and it's not my genre - it doesn't suit my own personal tastes. just because a game it has good quality, doesn't mean you have to like it. there is many critically acclaimed games I didn't played because it wasn't my cup of tea and that's from platforms, FPS, TPS, action, adventure genres. the only genres I'm into it's "cartoon-ish" JRPG, fighting games, puzzles, card games (I love Yu-Gi-Oh).
well, well, BAFTA awards are as fishy as Oscars, it seems. I mean... it was an amazing year for 3DS, Fire Emblem Awakening and Legend of Zelda should have been nominated.
I was one of those who pre-ordered Aqua Blue in my country, N3DS is my first nintendo handheld (this is someone who never had a chance to afford the previous handhelds, I always wanted to own one), N3DS came at a very good timing, when I recently received my internship, with it's backwards compatibility from expansive good DS librabry and 3DS promising games, I knew I wouldn't regret.
I don't say isn't reasonable, but my problem with this, is that treated stereotypically and separate girls from boys, I don't like that.
even though I think the female audience in general should be more aware of the 3DS, PSP and PSVita potential for them (maybe finally otome games and visual novels would be more localized from Japan, they sell like mad there to the point of turning into anime and manga adaptation), they seriously don't know what they're missing out.
@kamifox1 , I get what you mean, that's one of the problems of "girly girls" - there is perfect kind of games that would sell well for them, by just adding a lot of "romantic games" such as otome games localized and they will get it well sold. Hakuoki Memories is a good a step, but since localized otome games and visual novels is still quite lacking...it won't sell that much.
I gotta go with the exclusives that will help selling the Wii U, like some said it needs exclusives. as for the gamepad unnecessary, I don't think the Wii U main gamepad is the problem, if you can have a pro controller, then the gamepad supposed "problem" is out of the window. but the fact they need some games that get creative with the game pad? yes the gamepad isn't the main problem, many exclusives in many different genres - story exploration, would be neat, also the gamepad would be great influence in RPGs in battle systems and synthesising, all you have to do is be creative, not just practical functions such inventory and map.
I can see selling well on smartphones but won't sell the hardware (I think those that distribute mobile games want nintendo games on their smartphones, because it would be very profitable for them - but wouldn't be for Nintendo). the struggle with Wii U, I agree with @Nomad - new IPs, VC games and their Nintendo only games. some companies can be a saviors for the Wii U, Level 5 as one of them (look at what they did with DS), with Wonderflick on the way, it may inspired them, wonder flick is like perfect fit in terms of gameplay for the Wii U (they released a new IP for 3DS), Silicon Studio (since they're doing a sequel of Bravely for 3DS) and some others I can't think of it now.
I do agree with him and true you learn more from your failures than successes, specially those fail hard out of stubbornness (I speak for me and specially my friend). I do agree most with @JaxonH , I would add the story when we want a good story besides innovation, gameplay and fun.
now this of Disney buying Nintendo, just no, simply no. it's unnecessary,it won't happen either.
I'm maybe kinda new when comes understanding gaming industry, from what I could grasp it, it would be stupid to put on iOs, it's not only "Nintendo only games" that sells their hardware, it's their also other exclusives, that's what sells hardware consoles (being home console or handheld), 1st and 2nd parties games.
I think the problem with mostly with Nintendo like many said is the network system, in Wii U struggles case, they need to release more games per year in big variety not just Nintendo only franchises (or add new ones too, look at Bravely which is kinda a new franchise for 3DS (Bravely Default and Second) from their beloved 1st party together with 2nd parties.
Wii U in a way is like a home console version of DS/3DS (because of it's gamepad) seeing from this perspective there is a lot you can do with it.
