Re: Nintendo Convinced XSEED To Bring Sakuna To Switch, Pre-Orders About "2-To-1 Over PS4"

@MajinSoul I think their hesitation came more from the fact that to release both platforms simultaneously, they would have to delay the PS4 version by a huuuuge length of time, which means they're not making any money off of the game for much longer than originally planned.

I played the PS4 version at E3 over three years ago, so I can understand why they'd be hesitant to push it back for this long. A lot can happen in three years and they'd already marketed the game quite a bit so they might have been afraid they'd be old news by the time they finished a Switch version

@JohnnyC I think you're actually in the majority for having not experienced the Saturn haha. So in that sense, I suppose what you said about Saturn's marketing is very accurate. But in terms of the actual games, there's a lot of great titles.

I think part of what did the Saturn in was it's refusal to jump full force into the 3D hype of the mid-90s. While that caused it to flounder at the time for not following trends, in the long term I think it made a lot of their games stand the test of time more than many PS1 and N64 titles did. Compare 2D games like X-Men vs Street Fighter on the Saturn and the PS1 and the differences are astoundingly obvious.

Call it a lack of innovation I suppose, but lots of Saturn games feel like the apex of what the previous generation could have built to, while a lot of PS1/N64 titles feel like clumsy early 3D experiments

Add to that the fact that a lack of nostalgia (since no one bought it) led to barely any of the games getting re-released on later consoles and it makes the Saturn a worthwhile thing to check out. If only the games weren't so expensive nowadays

@Jayofmaya I think that's just a thing with media in general. Men can get old but leading ladies have to keep up appearances.

According to the SoR1 character select screen, he's only one year older then her. He's 22 and she's 21 (Adam is 23).

SoR2 takes place one year later. I don't think it's clear how much later SoR3 takes place. If we estimate maybe 5 years max, then add the 10 year gap to get to SoR4:

Axel would be 38
Blaze would be 37

Maybe dude just let himself go while she kept working out

@Quantaur right!! Or if someone wants the game and steelbook (tucked inside an oversized Genesis case) but none of the other items, they can get the mid-tier Classic Edition for $60.

LRG is really offering options for everyone at every price point, so I'm not sure why people are being so negative about this release

@GrailUK nah I didn't detect any hate from you in particular

A lot of other "useless garbage" or "not worth the money" comments from others though. I get that some people aren't interested in an Axel Stone statue or a metal Genesis cartridge in 2020. But to people who collect statues and retro games already, I think this is a cool collection of items that's of comparable or better value to the collector's editions we get for big AAA titles

Really surprised by all the hate in the comments here. I understand that these goodies aren't for everyone, but the recent Resident Evil 3 Collector's Edition was $30 more than this and came with WAAAAY less stuff (just a statue, an artbook, and a map/poster).

That Genesis case will look great on my Genesis game shelf and I can't wait to add Blaze and Axel to my Sega statue shelf along with NiGHTS, Ryo, Lan Di, Ulala, Beat, Toejam & Earl, Kiryu, and of course Sonic ^_^

@GrailUK they're offering the cancellation option for people who didn't read when they placed their orders for the other versions. When those versions went on sale, they said this version would be coming closer to the digital release date (a date the developer hadn't announced yet). That's why I didn't order the other one because I wanted to see what was included in this version first.

Re: Mature Visual Novel YU-NO Gets Western Switch Release Date And Day 1 Edition

This game has been heavily censored since it was ported from home computers to the Sega Saturn back in 1997, so I really don't see why there's any reason to be upset about one additional censored image. In this game's 23 years of existence, it has literally only been uncensored for ONE of those years. And I doubt anyone here knew about it until it arrived to consoles sans the sex.
