Really excited to dig into SNES Harvest Moon. First in the series for me.
I like the vibe compared to Stardew Valley, it's somehow more relaxing and less vast, I get a sense of nostalgia without having played it before even. Read a spoilerless guide to get the mechanics down because there was a lot the game didn't make clear, but I kind of like the weird glitches and imbalances now that I understand them. Seriously floored that there are so many in the series!
Really enjoying this game so far, though like others said I wish there was higher complexity/difficulty. Ironically I've enjoyed it most with narration off lol otherwise the pace is too slow for me. Perfect game to enjoy while waiting for holiday sales/releases.
Does anyone miss the classical compositions the original Tetris adapted for background music? I want to relax playing tetris, not feel like I'm going to the club lol. Tetris effect is fun but I find myself turning the volume down lately..
I mean even without the nintendo reference those are pug fugly. I can only assume this was planned to get a rise out of people and bring them in that way.
There's nothing surprising about this, even if it is kind of sad. But people are acting like this is about Nintendo specifically when it's really happening everywhere all the time. Capitalism in the US has ruined education, healthcare, and much more. But a lot less is at stake when someone has to change a controller they're selling or cancel a tournament. I can't see there ever being a George Floyd of the gaming industry.
Plus intellectual property is like the crown jewel of western individualism, they're gonna do everything they can to protect and profit from it. Why do you think the idea of cultural appropriation exists? We treat everything as a commodity, even abstract culture.
I too wish it was open world but it at least looks like they slowed the speed of the rail (maybe that is customizable?) Total nerd condition but I get simulation sickness and got totally nauseous replaying this on Wii. Cant wait!
Nintendo IS Tom Nook. They are trying to give you a meta-experience of Animal Crossing by creating an emotional and monetary gag on your ability to play Animal Crossing. A bold new strategy
I get why people are upset but I also don't. Back in the day we had very little means of knowing how or when things would come out. And yet people have great memories of those times and some might not be fans without them. I think it was better in some ways to have less info... anticipating every aspect of a game means you build a concept of your own experience before you even start. It also means you're projecting a huge amount about something that hasn't happened yet. There's a well known bias in psychology where negatives stand out more than positives (a bad day is more bad than a good day is good, especially in memory). I hope people can avoid this here.
Yeah cloud saves would be good but that being enough to make you not get the game?? How statistically likely is it that you would ever need to rely on a cloud save that wasn't about theft or damage that Nintendo would cover? How has cancel(ing preorder) culture come to video games?? I'm only saying I think people will miss it less than they think. At least get the game and resell it if you want, you might miss out otherwise.
It's worth saying as an Asian person that swelling tends to do a lot to change facial appearance which for us already has a thicker dermis with higher collagen levels and a less angular look than others. I've literally seen my nose swell to the point where I look like a different person. This guy's ears, chin, hands, eyebrows etc look the same. I definitely think it is the same guy.
Also we don't need anyone to tell us that diet and exercise together produce the best result. It already said he watched his diet as anyone would suggest. So RFA as an alternative to jogging outside or going to the gym seems totally reasonable to see some positive results, and it may have worked for this person. I might get it now that it's too cold to run outside!
I honestly thought this was going to be about the geodude meme.
This really isn't even political though, it's just about encouraging people to vote. The analogy works because a lack of voting just gives more power to the people who do vote. Not participating in democracy means it becomes wholly unrepresentative based on whoever's left that does participate, which then makes everyone else turn around and say it doesn't matter if you vote. This is just logic about how the system works, and if everyone participated it would work better. If you don't like the way things are, doing something is better than doing nothing.
@PopeReal I completely agree. I was really surprised to see how this discussion turned out.
I'm seeing a lot of comments that say, "Well she was fired for policy violations so that's fair and undebatable, but anyway she deserved to be sacked because she did other things not directly related to her job that I didn't agree with."
You can't have it both ways. As Nintendo stated, this can be viewed strictly as a policy issue. To start a conversation that focuses on her online actions not pertaining to direct reasons for her being fired while simultaneously ignoring the bigotry directed at her makes NO sense. Nintendo's reasons were technical. This is not supposed to be an issue of character. But if you're gonna go there, at least acknowledge the fact that a lot of harassment has been directed at her that reflects negatively on the gaming community that is receiving very little attention. And by not discussing it, we (and arguably Nintendo) are giving tacit approval to such behavior.

Re: Uh-Oh, One Of Mario Party Superstars' Mini-Games Sounds Like A Joy-Con Drift Nightmare
I never had drift issues until this year but I got free replacements quickly so whatever. But when this mini game comes up I'll just be happy to lose.
Anyone think this might get discounted in November/Holidays? Might hold out if I can...
