I read an article stating that one of the bigger reasons consoles had been banned was because they were worried about the effect it would have on the morality of the youth and whether some of the ideas present in the games were compatible with their culture. So it sounds like it had more to do with controlling the messages found in the games, rather than banning them for any industrial or commercial reasons.

@LordGeovanni That's true. The product belongs to Nintendo, so they can do whatever they want with it. The breast cancer charity was a good cause, but it still doesn't shift any property rights away from Nintendo or anything.

Dating sims sound awfully boring.

@Sondheimist Congrats, you completely alienated people who may have been persuaded to join your cause by being condescending and hostile.

I guess Jill Valentine, Samus Aran, Chun Li, Claire Redfield, Terra, Celes, Tifa, Yuffie, Dixie Kong, Amy Rose, Lara Croft, Bayonetta, and Heather Mason don't count as playable female characters. Not to mention the countless games that let you choose the gender of your main character. Like every online RPG in existence. And the more recent Pokemon games.

I enjoyed CoP, so I am glad to hear this.
