I think tht Splatoon could use cosemetic items, a little underwhelming but then again, changimg your appearance is a big part in those games. Besides, I'd love to see my character dressed up as Ness or Toon Link. For Zelda, maybe tapping on an Amiibo can grant you a new sidequest, like tapping on a Mario or Peach amiibo has you go on a quest to rescue Peach, or a Bowser amiibo causes you to go through a castle maze thing. It'd be fun to see what the developers can come up with, but it's not at all likely. Mario Maker could benefit with having amiibos add new backgrounds and style. Like, making a Mario game with a mix of Mario and Metroid tilesets. Ot maybe Mario Maker could get an iconic enemy from a series, like adding New Age Retro Hippies or Metroids if you tap in the right amiibo. I honestly am excited to see the possibilities of amiibo, and even in games where it's just a cosmetic change, I don't care because I like the figures for just being figures. Toon Link looks great on my desk, and with Ness, Pikachu, and Jigglypugf hopefuly joining him soon, I'll have my own little collection of favorites.
