@DeadAntelopesGo I know. But surely the idea of Nintendo making a phone would be to play Nintendo games. They require buttons. Otherwise, what's the point?!
Really annoyed about this if true. I was looking forward to the game, and I hate games being arbitrarily delayed for no reason.
Having said that, the Rayman Legends situation was far, far worse, as it seemed the entire Wii U launch was designed around it, and without it, we had a 4 month period of no new games whatsoever.
Weird rant, especially as three games are out on Wii U this week.
Also, letter accuses Nintendo of lacking innovation, goes on to thank them that the new Mario is only 2D and mock the fact that the innovative Super Mario Galaxy (The highest rated game of all time on any format according to Gamerankings) didn't sell as well. What's up with that?
It's all too easy to forget that the 3DS had similar problems at the start. Much hyped E3 Third Party games like Megaman Legends and Saints Row were cancelled. Games like Crush3D and CaveStory were delayed. Heck, the 3DS was even worse - at this point in time, it didn't even have a web browser or eShop.
Thing is, I felt sorry for him at first - then he started all that nonsense about "Wii owners only buy Wii Sports", "the Wii is a toy, not a gaming console"....
The thing you have to remember is that Nintendo deliberately held their big games back because third parties told them that they couldn't compete with Mario.
As a result, Nintendo left the first few months Mario-less, but of course, the third parties delayed their games as the console wasn't selling, leaving us with no games.
I get the impression that most of the gaming industry just hate Nintendo and want them to get out of the way. Look at all the "Nintendo is d00med!" gloating when the 3DS was first launched - compare that to the Vita, which is basically getting a free pass, despite performing far worse.
The thing is, Nintendo themselves never made shovelware. Even their casual games had a level of effort put into them.
I blame the third-parties. The most popular console always attracts companies wanting to make a quick buck - just look at some of the dire games released on the PS2 (most popular last gen), for example.
Yep. I remember reading a rumour that Nintendo actually delayed Xenoblade in the US because of Operation Rainfall, because they didn't want to be seen giving in, lest fans start demanding all kinds of games being released.
when OOT's Link first pulls out the Master Sword and goes into the future, he actually travels to an alternate future universe, disapearing from his original universe forever. This "original universe" timeline continues on witout OOT's Link to defeat Ganon, who is instead trapped by the seven sages, setting up the events of Link to the Past.
I'm pleased this is only available through one store, as it once again confirms that the add-on is entirely optional. If it was essential to enjoy future 3DS titles, they'd be selling it in every store,
@Monsti Doubt it. If anything, Rainfall may have delayed the release as Nintendo would want to show that they don't give into threats - otherwise people would be doing campaigns like that for every game release.
@raptor78 I went to the competition website linked from Club Nintendo. It said I'd entered 5 times, which is the maximum number of times you can enter.
I only registered SM3DL and MK7 this month, which means the other games I've registered must have counted.
Nintendo clearly didn't want anything to compete with Skyward Sword....
Anyway, all you complainers, time to put your money where your mouth is. If you don't buy this, you can't complain when Nintendo refuse to localize any more RPGs.... Worringly, I already see excuses on other gaming sites.
"Simple like i said on other message boards .. nintendo knows the 3ds is mostly a flop.. rumor has it a new handheld will be Shown at E3 2012 (video footage at least maybe working model) and a new system will hit late 2012 to 2013 what will be the REAL next upgrade from the dsixl"
I very much doubt this. E3 2012 will be all about the Wii U. They'd be insane to announce a new version of the 3DS at the same time.
I have to say I facepalmed when I saw this attachment. I bought a 3DS day one and this is the first time I've felt annoyed with Nintendo.
By releasing this stick, they've shown that they have no confidence in their console. Also, just when sales were picking up, they've stopped people from buying the current 3DS because everyone is waiting for a twin stick redesign.
I absolutely refuse to attach this thing to my system. The 3DS doesn't need two sticks and I refuse to play any game that requires it.
Troubile is, the official @oprainfall Twitter account consists of a palty 2300 followers.
I know it's only been going a short time, but for such a "hot" issue, that number's just pathetic and drives home the point that not many people are interested.
Sony owned the Blu-Ray format so it made sense for their consoles to support it. Look at it the other way - would Sony have included Blu-Ray if Nintendo owned it? Doubtful. If Nintendo had included Blu-Ray, they'd have to pay money to Sony - their rival - every time a console or game was bought - and it would make everything far more expensive.
Well, they said they'd be making a new Flipnote Studio for the 3DS, so the fact that the DSi version doesn't work isn't surprising. Similarly, there's already a new version of Asphalt out for the 3DS...

Re: Nintendo Blocks 3DS Flashcard With Latest Firmware Update
And I'd bet anything that the latest update is required for the next 3DS games to function. It might even be included on the cart.

Phone has no buttons. What a fail.

Now using Type B controls with no problem.

Re: Rumour: Wii U Heading for E3 Face-Off with PS4 and Xbox 720
And here was I thinking we'd finished the "Nintendo is doomed" articles for a while
DS was launched. Everyone predicted the superior PSP would destroy it.
What happened? DS outsold the PSP 2-1.
Wii was launched. Everyone predicted the superior PS3 would destroy it..
What happened? The Wii sold in figures the PS3 could only dream of.
3DS was launched. Everyone predicted the superior PSVita would destroy it.
What happened? The 3DS outsold the Vita 7-1 in its opening week.
And now, I can see everyone predicting that the Wii U will be destroyed by the superior PS4.....
Here we go again
Re: Rumour: Wii U and 3DS to Get E-Reader Capabilities

They've dabbled in this area before.
Remember the 100 Classic Book Collection for the DS?!
Re: Game of the Year: You Decide!
3DS: Zelda
DSiWare: Zelda
Wii: Zelda
Eshop: Pullblox (has a Zelda level.)
Notice a theme here?
Re: Link's Awakening DX is 2011's Best-Selling 3DS VC Game
You have to remember, Zelda was one of the earliest games released on the 3DS eshop, so people have had far longer to buy it.

@James Oops. Must have missed that! Apologies.
Re: Japanese 3DS Sales Hit New High in Christmas Week
But, wait, I thought Nintendo would be doomed once the Vita was released?!
Seriously, though, I read on another site that the 3DS sales have now exceeded the lifetime sales of the GameCube in Japan.
Re: That Zelda Timeline Makes a Bit More Sense Now
I found a site that explains it.
Link doesn't die - he just never returns to the original timeline.
http://www.gamezone.com/news/official-zelda-series-timeline-explained
when OOT's Link first pulls out the Master Sword and goes into the future, he actually travels to an alternate future universe, disapearing from his original universe forever. Re: Nintendo Doesn't Want a 3DS Price Situation on Wii U
$349.99 is what I'm expecting the price to be.
Will I buy it? Almost certainly. I don't even care if the specs are lower than the PS4 - being able to play Mario and Zelda in HD is enough for me.
This may be controversial but I hope the Wii U uses Motion Plus only. I really don't want to see waggle controls for another 5 years.

Re: Nintendo Doesn't Want a 3DS Price Situation on Wii U
$350, assuming it comes with 1 control pad, 1 wiimote plus, 1 nunchuk, 1 game.
Re: Register 2 3DS Games and You Could Win a Mario 3DS
I was worried because I already registered some valid games before November 1st, however, they all counted so it's all good...
And... that means since launch, we've had 23 free games!
Re: It's Official: Xenoblade Chronicles is Coming to North America
This is nothing to do with Operation Rainfall.
Nintendo clearly didn't want anything to compete with Skyward Sword....

Re: Nintendo Explains Lack of Online Play in Star Fox 64
Makes sense, really.
The main issue the 3DS has at the moment is a lack of decent games and Starfox 64 was always about the single player.
Imagine the doom and gloom articles we'd have to read if Nintendo announced that a N64 Remake was delayed until 2012.
