You do realize a lot of Wii and DS owner, as well as most Pokemon fans are children? Just saying, you better start adding some points, since you lost that bet(esp. considering there are only 13 wiiware games, not too hard to make it to the Top 10).
@peznaze Good info, very helpful. Now I won't have my hopes too high next week only to have them come crashing down(like this week).
Having been forced to try this game on emulation(they won't release it in the US for some reason, no matter how much I hope), I actually liked this game more than Soldier blade, the ability to choose the styles of the weapons really adds to the gameplay. Sure its no superattack like what Soldier Blade offers, but it's still brilliant, part of why Gradius III is my favorite horizontal shooter.
Wonder ing the same thing myself. In fact I got so sick of waiting for them to release Final Soldier(or any TG-16 game for that matter) to the US, that I finally gave up and got an emulator to finally try it out, though, I whole-heartedly admit I'm a Cheap, impatient jerk(forlack of a better word) for having done so, especially since it's only been a month's wait. If it makes ya feel any better, the emulator only lets me play for 5 min. at a time, so I'm essentially always playing the 5 min. mode, and has subsequently helped to convince me to purchase Star Soldier R.
Yah, by now Nanostray doesn't seem so tough anymore, especially considering the fact that the challenge would never actually increase in the higher difficulty levels and only limited the amount of lives that were available to you. Though, considering the fact that not only was it pretty much my first shooter, but also THE game that taught me to appreciate a challenge and not give up when things get tough(until then, I always stuck to easy-peasy games and always had to have my little brother bail me out whenever things got remotely difficult), it was certainly impessive.
Also, I've lately seen videos of Ikaruga and it looks amazing! No wonder so many shooter fans seem to hail that game as the King of Shm'ups. It reminds me a bit of Kenta Cho's rRootage while playing IKA mode, and if that experience has taught me anything, it's that I am going to die a lot going after the matching colored bullets, as I seem to suffer some sort of Eager Beaver Syndrome.
Oh, and Could anyone tell me where I could buy Ikaruga, at least for some sort of budget price? I would hate to have to get a 360 just to get that game at a reasonable price, considering the fact that i have 2 Gamecubes(3 if you count the Wii).
Well, thanks in part to this review, I've finally decided to get this game. Who knew 5 minutes of gameplay was all it needed, huh?
Also, I'm a little new here and while I haven't been to many forums, this is the first site I've been to where the staff actually interact with the posters for reasons other than to answer question about crippling problems on the site. I quite impressed as it makes them more personable and tells me that you do read and care about what we post. This is the first site I've ever posted on, and some far it's been a very pleasant experience. I can't wait to read, and comment on, more articles from you wonderful reviewers and journalists.
Oh, and have I commented here before, probably about this game? I'm pretty sure I did, but can't seem to find it.
Yah you can buy one from me, I got six decks at home and even chips to play with. The bidding starts a one dollar! 1 Dollar!! 1 Dollar!! Anybody? Anyboby? 1 Dollar !!! How about 50 cents?
Oh, and Objection_blaster, do you review for IGN, or do you just do reader reviews? Since it seems like you have more than a limited understanding of the game you are reviewing and have the ability to adjust your expectations based on the curcumstances, I'm guessing it's the latter.
MY GOD that is impessive strade32!! Now I want to go back and play DYC again, I got stuck somewhere in the 60's.
This game is definately better than the flash version, and that's saying something since nearly everyone in my DDP class(design and drawing for production, all you really need to know is that everyone has access to acomputer) got addicted to this game, once our teacher's dad died and we had a sub for 2 weeks, whom everyone convinced we had nothing else to do and to let us use the computer until the teacher was back from the funeral.
Oddly enough, I got into shooters with the hardest shooter I could find, though not quite intentionally. My first was Galaga, which wasn't too hard but I never got into it. My second was Nanostray, for the DS(the only shooter on the DS) and it was the hardest game I've ever played, shooter or otherwise, before or since though Soldier Blade comes in a close second and I haven't played Ikaruga yet. I honostly didn't like Blazing Lazers, though mostly because it is dificullt to identify which power-up you were going to get before you got it, along with the fact that it wasn't hard enough for me(not soldier blade hard).
Protothea seems like a walk in an empty room, too easy and not fun.
I personally can't for this game! This could be a better racing game than Mario Kart Wii(the lack of blue shells alone brings it head-and-shoulders above that "Game") and I loved sporgs when I was a kid, even though I didn't know how ta play.
Dang! And I was just telling myself that if nothing good comes out for wiiware this monday, I would download F-Zero X and Star Soldier R. In fact, I was so sure that there wasn't going to be anything good monday that I was going to download them today. I've been putting off F-Zero X for months now!
Oh well, maybe some other time... 'till then, I'm really looking forward to Toki Tori!
I've never played the original, but Ive heard and seen a lot about this one and it seems really fun! I just hope I have the space for both this and SSR... maybe if I finish Lost Winds, I can make room for them.
I tried to sign up for the fan club, and it didn't work. For some reason, when I go to the comfirmation email, the link takes me someplace that just says '404 ERROR not found on this server'. Has anyone else had this problem and/or know how to fix it? I certainly hope this doesn't happen often, otherwise no one would be in the fan club...

Nah, I still don't see it. Maybe I deleted it, or only imagined it. Thanks anyways.
