Re: Reaction: Wii U's Social Potential Takes Shape

That's the Wii emulator. When you open it, it's like having a Wii inside the Wii U, not as part of. I think I read that it will take you to the old Wii menu where you can access the games, Wii shop, VC titles, etc. Think of it as Wii having GC backwards compatibility. It's just an emulator as opposed to an app that blends the older system with the new one shrug. Oh wells. At least the option is there...

I'll be impressed when Wii U can run Unreal Engine 4, Frostbite 2 (PC level) and Luminous Engine (Square Enix's new one) even if downscaled. This stuff looks great cause of the art direction. But none of these images show any "next-gen" graphical leaps by techniques such as tesselation, sub-surface scattering, radiosity, etc.

To be honest, both the plaza and the Ninja Castle in Nintendo Land looked WAY better than all this stuff because of the realistic lighting/shadows and the texture shaders. Excluding the wandering Miis of course. Just the background. This stuff looks like well, current gen. Still nice. But only because of each game's respective art style.

Re: Review: 3DS Circle Pad Pro

I want it. Looks comfy. What bothers me about it aesthetically is that it doesn't adhere to the 3DS' semi-square-ish design. Had they put that in perspective, the look of it might have matched the 3DS more appropriately and not create such bad buzz for itself. Either way, I hope they design the next 3DS with the whole "round" look to avoid hand cramps altogether.

Re: Heroes of Ruin Trailer Asks a Lot of Questions

These graphics must be from the older builds. I've downloaded 3D screens of this game to my 3DS and it looks WAY better than this. Also, the online is so robust and the gameplay is so chock-full of content that it won't matter if it actually ends up looking like that ^.
