Today is officially the last day of 2020, and to go out with a bang, your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is hosting a special grand countdown event in the plaza to welcome in the new year. All the animals on your island will be there!

It will be only New Year celebration with my virtual villagers during Covid19 pandemic.

Had the birthday furniture set yesterday, and new year today? Animal Crossing has been busy this week!
My wife's coming over to my island tonight along with some friends for a new year party. Seeming as we can't get together in real life we can still do virtual things and make the most of it.
AC is definitely more fun when high/drunk with friends than just sitting in front of a webcam on Zoom talking. I feel a little sorry for the Animals though, they are way to innocent for the shenanigans they get exposed to lol.
My membership expired and I need to renew it
It was a funny discussion with my friends what kind of countdown we should put on. I was very happy we managed to put on the Animal Crossing countdown, alongside the 'normal' tv show. The AC vibe means to me: if anything goes haywire in the new year, we can count on the cheerfullness on the island.
Case in point, as real life fireworks were forbidden here this year to bring relief to health workers, it was lovely to have a beautiful animation on AC.
