As much as I liked the SMT games for 3DS, I think they should've tried to avoid the labyrinth theme/design idea for this game, as it's been overused to exhaustion in recent releases.
Well, it's a good thing they aren't afraid to contradict each other. The inclusion of the Wii U on the "worst tech gifts" list was an excessively negative assessment about the console, especially considering the Wii U's holiday line-up is clearly superior to the other consoles's launch line-ups.
NOA is clearly aiming at parents this holiday season, with all these recent commercials. It's a good strategy for boosting sales, but it will also further promote the misconception that Nintendo products are just for children.
Saying 3rd party developers are lazy is wrong. The decision on how much time will be dedicated to optimizing each version of a triple A game is a money decision above all. I think Wii U owners should get the games they want to play, but they should also take into account the quality of the port when it's a multiplatform game.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Deus Ex, even to those not familiar with the series. I've heard only good things about the Wii U version.
My 2 cents: the Wii U will not win this gen, but it won't do worse than the GameCube either. More importantly: after this gen, we will see a big change in strategy for all console makers.
For me, this was the best news in today's Nintendo Direct. I honestly don't care about the social features. The account system is good but its still not what I think they should be aiming at. These sales, on the other hand, signals to me that Iwata's QA talk about not doing sales to avoid devaluing the software was just for show. Nintendo needs to get with the times and have a more flexible pricing policy.
@Emblem Digital Foundry made a side by side comparison of the Wii U, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The Wii U version seems poorly optimized as it looks the same and runs worse.
Nintendo is right to protect their copyright, but stupid not to adopt a more liberal view of copyright like Valve does. If Valve had Nintendo's mindset towards this sort of things, they wouldn't own Counter-Strike, Dota 2, etc.
Aonuma's problem in achieving this is that a perfect Zelda game already exists. It's Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. That game is, alongside Super Metroid, one of those rare achievements in the gaming medium, very hard to match, impossible to outdo.
@ricklongo I agree. The Wii U is manufactured by Foxconn, same company that makes the iPad in Brazil. So their main manufacturer already has a factory in the country.
@fchinaski Actually @Savino is not completely wrong. It's not about profit margin, but the truth is Japanese companies do have a exaggerated, borderline racist attitude towards emerging markets in general and Brazil in particular. Being an American company, Microsoft is way more understanding of the Brazilian ways of doing business. They have made a big effort to guarantee their leadership in the console race here.
The problem is the price point is too close to the Xbone, which will be manufactured in Brazil. If they had some part of their production line in the country, Nintendo could reduce the taxes on their console and then they'd be really competitive. This way, black market (illegal imports that don't pay all the taxes) will probably beat the sanctioned version of the product (it's already happening with the 3DS XL).

Re: Xenoblade Studio Monolith Soft Was Involved With Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
After X is out, I'd love to see Monolith Soft remake Xenogears for the 3DS. This would truly be amazing.
