Its getting so oldd seeing two “3dS iS dYiNg” articles, when the Switch mini budget 200 dollars or under SKU comes around, the 3DS will be fast down the road, until then its on Nintendo’s 2nd pillar since Nintendo is like the only player left in the handheld market after Vita walked out, I see the 3DS as the ipod touch for apple that stuck around for a bit since it was the only budget option left (until iphone SE)

Re: Disappointing 3DS Software Sales Show The Console's Slow Death In Japan

What I noticed in recent years is that Japan moves on from consoles faster, Japan dropped the 3DS XL so fast so no shock. (They didnt even release the 2DS in Japan until waaayy later, kinda proving the point) While I agree that the 3DS is slowly dying, its price point is the only reason why Nintendo is still supporting it, the 2DS is 79 bucks while the Switch is 300 bucks, I think they will drop 3DS when a mini model comes out and or when the switch starts hovering around late 100’s in dollars, I still think that it would be stupid to kill off the cheaper model in a market where Nintendo is the only major player left (handheld).
