Thanks Leon:) Alot of comparisons have been drawn to Sky Crawlers. In a way, we have the advantage of the historical accuracy and campaigns side. Hopefully these will appeal to a wider audience:)
@Casualplayer I think that smaller developers like say Ghostfire games and us for example are pushing the boundaries on the Wii to show that it really is a viable gaming platform. There's only so many party games the system can have and it's about time more developers knuckled down and develop serious and honest to goodness games for the system.
@iAmThetot We won't be having online at all in Ep1. As I said, it's something we're considering for Ep2 or 3. What we've squeezed into the paltry WiiWare file size confines us some what.
It's like I've always said, as pretty as the screenshots are, you really can't beat seeing it in full swing. The video shows how good an engine we've put together, harnessing the awesome power...cough..of the Wii!
Sky's a lovely game but you can only compare to Pearl as far as them both being sky combat, two different games:) Ours offers historical accurate planes and campaigns....not forgetting that the game owes alot fo fans like yourselves for helping us out with plane decals that were used in the specific period etc!
I do like Sky Crawlers, great game. I'll get around to finishing it some day...after FFXIII and Metro 2033!
Good to see people are loving the flight sim/arcade action flying based games for Wii! Hopefully it bodes well for us hard working Legendo-ites:)
Having played both, I'll sound biased in saying so, but I do think our control scheme's (Pearl's) slightly more atuned and sharper feeling and you really do need it in all of the thick an' fast action!
Good comments chaps, glad you're excited by what we're doing/achieving! It's really quite amazing what we've currently crammed into that tiny 40MB limit!
Dracula Twins would need a major overhaul tbh Bass. It's a nice title for its time but it's far too simplistic; almost like Three Musketeers really and sadly, that's been far from setting the world ablaze. I think it'd make a good port to something like the iPhone though:) Still, I'm only the community/PR dude.
Legend Marioid, we've not announced anything regarding controls...yet!
Cheers chaps, always a pleasure to hear what you all think!
Regarding the episodic titling, I've passed that on. I think it's a very valid point and I wholeheartedly agree. Hopefully the name will be amended forthwith!
@Gabe We don't have a publisher in Japan, too much red tape:)
@Mahchu It was cunning but we thought we'd try to get as much attention as we could for both ourselves and NL as possible. I had a feeling that smaller sites might feel a bit funny about running it, threatend if you will by advertising another site but the big hitters out there I had a feeling they'd not have a prob!
@ Strofan - I hope not, I'm assuming I'm older than you...that'd be a bit weird;) But guys, seriously thank you for all of the kind words etc and I'm glad you're all pumped for the competition. I did keep saying something was coming, I'm just always under strict guidelines as to what and when I can reveal it!
@Sean Aaron - bang on there, that's exactly why WiiWare's the choice we made. Not only do you have to vye for the shelf space like you said, but then you also have the problems of actually getting a retailer to stock your product. In today's market, there's so many games out there that they become stale so damned quickly. I remember the days of a big release per system 3-4 times a year. Now days..
@Gabbo - haha, I hope you enjoy those episodes. Think yourself lucky that I won't be starring in them, the images would be scarred onto your retina for life!
Like I said on the forum, you got think that the game is running@60fp/s. Increase detail and the framerate will be affected. I for one would rather a consistant framerate and smooth play over some high resolution mapping on the ground!
Indeed I could have but I'm speaking not only as a PR guy, but also a gamer. I wasn't being argumentative, just saying that it's pricey to not only develop a game, but then also pay for the pressing of the discs, the distribution, sending out review code and so on. WiiWare's a great service, as distribution's taken care of Nintendo's side, so it lowers the over all cost to the consumer in theory.
@Omega - I totally agree regarding pricing, it's something that we've been monitoring closely. I adore alot of Telltale's games, but I wouldn't snaffle them on Wii when I can play them on PC for cheaper:)
An old couple I know didn't realise until I told them last week that they could go online with theirs! So I daresay a large percentage of the people "not in the know" are the higher age end of Nintendo's market.
It's episodic for a few reasons. Firstly, it'd be impossible to squeeze the whole game into the 40MB limit. Secondly, it enables us to actually get some money coming in whilst the other episodes are being created.
Fan page, with of course ability to question not only me but the headhoncho and coders..
I have to say, as a seriously hard core RPG lover...this is one of my all time greatest games. It's perfect in every way! Even just now, I have the theme running in my head:)
Great to hear WolfRamHeart, thank you. I urge any fan of the genre to give it a whirl, spend your hard earned Pepsi points on this wee gem, you'll not be disappointed. If you are, please spank ChickenBrutus, he likes it apparently.
Problem is with Nintendo is that they chuck out one or two AAA title every year, without feeling the need to do more. I always thought that when Iwata took the reins things would change.
Nintendo stupidly aimed their focus on casual gaming and as impressive as it is for sales, it simply doesn't cater for it's die hard and true fans. As much as I adore Zelda and Mario, we need some new IPs and we needed them last year.
If it had full functioning calendar with the ability to add dates, times, reminders blah blah blah and of course, the ability to synch that data with your PC then wonderful...if not, bleugh.
I may get spanked for saying this but there are indeed multiple endings:) Shh, you didn't hear that from me..
Thank you Chicken B. for the wonderful review, I'm glad you enjoyed the game. It's an exciting time for us, if this sells well our next game is going to be something special. It's already in development, but I'm not allowed to lift the lid yet but it's totally different from 3M..

Re: First Look: Pearl Harbor Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising
@ThreadShadow We'd love to do it celshaded but the Wii couldn't cope with the level of detail shown in the trailer:(
@JimLad we're looking to do MP in ep2 or 3, we've not decided as of yet.
Re: First Look: Pearl Harbor Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising
@Turtlelink
Ep1 won't have MP but we are going to do it for Ep2 or 3, we don't know which yet!
Re: First Look: Pearl Harbor Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising
Thanks guys, positivity always sets me up for a comfy night's sleep:)
Yes, you can play as both sides. Control schemes we'll have support for Wii Remote, Wii Remote and Nunchuk and the Classic Controller
It'll contain as much as a full disc based game and some:)

Edit, oops! You were pointing to NL. Blame the wine gums, I've had one too many.
Re: Pearl Harbour Trilogy Shots Come In To Land
Oooh you'll have me ranting if you keep on...
I think you'll find though that it's NL that's posting it as Pearl HarboUr and not us;)

Re: Pearl Harbour Trilogy Shots Come In To Land
In reality, the game's an arcade shooter. Its storyline's based on historical fact but I suppose that's as nerdy as it gets:)

@Omega, fine. Will you pay for the pressing of the discs, distribution in each territory and so on please? Then we'll release it on disc! ;p
Remember, the screens are WIP!
Re: Legendo Takes to the Skies with Pearl Harbor Trilogy
Also! Each episode's "self contained", so literally each one will have its own ending, so that negates your quibble;)

Re: DS Look-a-like Disappears From iTunes App Store
Apple's green light procedure's lax at best. I've seen a huge amount of blatant rip offs of well established IPs, especially Mario.

Fingers crossed John, that when some other sites have reviewed the game, sales will pick up. You're not the only one dismayed fella!
