For good or bad, I am apparently incapable of seeing low frame rates or pop-ins, etc. I just literally do not notice them or care. Everything looks fine to me and it plays great. It isn't just this game, it's every game that people drone on about poor performance. It does not impact me in the slightest. I know some of you are burdened by an inability to see past these issues, and I pity you deeply, but honestly, 10/10.
@Joeynator3000 there are strong rumors that we'll be getting the Espinas subspecies in one of these updates. We'll also likely get the gold/silver rath duo since they always make an appearance.
I read somewhere that Niatic was being pressured by sponsored pokestop businesses to reduce the radius back to 40 so people would be more likely to have to go into those places to use them rather than from the parking lot, on the road, etc.
My personal gripe with it is how hard it is to reach some of the stops near me. With the boosted radius, I could grab a bunch of stops walking to work and walking in the park. Now I have to take detours to get the same stops, potentially crossing roads or going into more crowded areas. It just makes the game harder to play, but not in a fun way.
They can do whatever they want, it's their game, but it will absolutely reduce player engagement and ultimately cost them money.
@Ooyah don't be fooled by that fool. California culture is very laid-back and is as you thought. They just also happen to have a lot of laws that govern things like how much your car can pollute so people who disagree with saving the Earth think they are a nanny-state.
This gives me hope for a Dragon's Dogma 2 on switch. My dream of it being made was pretty much dead until it was rereleased for switch and the new Netflix series that just dropped. I'm hoping Capcom sees that IP has legs and decides to continue it.
@Wolfgabe That's interesting. I haven't heard rumors about Sony paying for MH:W, but I believe it. With Monster Hunter, it's important to remember that western audiences are a far second to Japan players. it's a system seller, and Nintendo has been cleaning up since they (miraculously) stole the series from Sony. Sony is desperate to increase their user base in Japan (from what I've read), so I believe they would go this far.
All that being said, I think Capcom would be shooting themselves in the foot by moving the main series off Nintendo platforms. It's such a great fit of hardware and software. I beleive that MH:W is a side-project to bridge the gap for western audiences before the movie comes out and to boost Sony's user-base in Japan.
But I was wrong about Trump getting elected so don't trust me.
@oatmealwarrior92 I remember reading (but it could all be false) that there was a disagreement between Sony and the MH devs about online play in the west. I don't remember the specifics, but Nintendo was willing to meet their demands so they went with N. And I think Nintendo was hosting all the online services for the last two console releases, which kept us from having to pay subscription fees.
Nintendo/GameFreak/TPC isn't being evil by shutting down fan-games, they are just protecting their assets. By allowing other people to use IPs without punishment, you open up all kinds of legal issues if they ever need to enforce an actual theft of the IP in court. Pokemon is such a behemoth that their legal team cannot let little projects go.
Blame the IP laws, not the companies that need to protect their assets.
Even now, we see Blizzard trying to shut down paid hack sites that are selling bots for Overwatch. This is a clear violation of IP usage, but I'm sure the site's lawyers are pointing to non-profiting cheat communities who Blizzard didn't shut down.
