It's hard not to bash on this IP in this case. The way gamefreak and nintendo is handling this, is appalling. It's pretty nasty how they dare to announce a dlc before the game is even out yet. Yet, the game looks graphical really disappointing. It's all very bland, but bland in 4k on the switch 2. I do like great graphics that keep up with the times. And of course good gameplay goes a long way. But i think they stayed behind with the graphical department. It's not that i won't be playing this. But i'll probably get it second hand or through a pretty cheap key somewhere on the internet. This is definitely not worth the full price. Bigger chance i won't buy it at all. On the other hand, i've played pokemon since it's first generation. So perhaps this game is just not for my age. I don't know.
But we are in the year 2025 and there have been loads of open world bangers that are gorgeous and vibrant. And these are games that the switch 2 could manage quite easily. And pokemon should go back to a 4k cell shaded game. It would save a lot of data which you can use to make the whole open world pop like it never did before. These current games make a mixture of realistic style and cell shaded. If you ask me, you can gain a lot of fans. But we never know if gamefreak or nintendo listens, because they never react or respond to criticism.
The only game i had major complaints about was Pokemon Scarlet/Violet. The performance is abysmal, and the framerate is not even good enough for the Nintendo Wii. I could go about the whole minimal artstyle which makes that world look really lifeless. But if they will improve the former complaints, i'll be as happy as a clam. But i do hope they will make major improvements in the next mainline. Next legends also looks a bit more lifeless than it should.
I was honestly just hoping for a better framerate. That the world will still feel a bit lifeless has been "in my opinion" too much of an ask. Off course i want a world that is full of life, but for now i wish i had a better resolution with a much better framerate. So that if i run across the fields, the windmills in the distance will turn at a normale pace instead of a pixelated version.
It will really all just be about the lineup. The hardware will be a switch 2.0. So the AAA games need to be and feel like next level. But let's take Mario Kart 8 deluxe for instance, this game feels like top tier already. Yes there can be proper updates on control and maybe even slicker graphics, bur for what it is, it's already pretty perfect. I think nintendo has something cool up it's sleeve when it comes to software. I confess that my imagination is probably lacking in what the creative directors can think of in their new games. i Personally hope for a better looking and playable pokemon game.

Re: Here's Your First Look At Pokémon Scarlet And Violet On Switch 2
@Ralizah i would be happy with a ultra stable 30 fps.
