ah...I'll have to look for those stats...thanks. The other negative (at least for me) was the lack of touch pad usage...how do you get a tie??? My very first game...I was winning 2-0 in the 9th...brought in what I thought to be the best choice for reliever and he gave up 3 runs...then some weak player I had I motivated to hit better and he jacked a game tying homer...I finally won in the bottom of the 13th inning.

Re: Nintendo Refutes Claims of Widespread 3DS Headaches

I have yet to have a headache. I was concerned since I wear glasses. I have felt eye-strain (tired eyes). Sort of conditioning my eyes by playing 45-60 minutes each day. I suppose if you played hours then maybe there could be an issue. I'm enjoying the thing more than I expected and I only have Lego Star Wars (along with the AR and Face Raiders games). Can't wait to play Ghost Recond and for Zelda and Mario to come out.

Re: Absolute Baseball

downloaded and played it a bit last night. It's okay for $5. No stats. You do get to improve players. Bad english makes some choices confusing. I like the visual representations, but they repeat pretty quick. The fielders move like the old nintendo baseball games, therefore, fielders miss some balls that look like they should be gotten. Can't see some information (ie: endurance for a pitcher during a game). some easy plays turn into base hits and it feels weird. I'd give it a 4.5 out of 10 rating.

@Mickeymac

I understand what you are saying on one level...but when you say 10 out of 10, you are saying it is one of the best games of all-time imo (i understand that may not be everybody's view). Those games that I listed (other than Goo maybe) are universally listed as top 100 games of all-time (regardless of platform, genre, or generation). If this site ONLY reviewed games for DSiWare, then I might buy into the 10 rating relative to DSi games available but Corbie rates games of all systems and generations.

I don't believe in pumping review points up for games based on lowered expectations of a system (just because there is so much junk available on dsi or iphone for that matter doesn't mean the first good game should become a must-buy all-time great)...many of those games I listed could easily fit into a DSi download and are perfect for handheld portability (in fact some are portable). So, I don't think we're talking about comparing apples to oranges here.

Re: Review: Shantae: Risky's Revenge (DSiWare)

This is a good game but doesn't fit the bill for a 10/10. I understand fanfare and all, but game-wise it's an 8 (which is extremely good considering it's DSiWare imo. How can you put this in the league with other games that got a 9 or 10 out of 10 (ie: World of Goo, Mario 64, Super Mario 3, Super Metroid, LoZ:LttP, LoZ:Links Awakening, Chrono Trigger). You even gave it a higher rating than New Super Mario Bros for the DS. After playing and enjoying Shantae, there is no way I'd put it in that league of games.

Re: Landstalker

Very fun game indeed and worth the points. Everyone compares it to Alundra which is a fair comparison since it was made by some of the same people...but the other game that I feel like it was similar to is the NES game StarTropics which is also a good game.

Re: Mega Man 9

Concrete Man's level and character/weapon "rocks". Galaxy Man's level is awesome (although Galaxy Man is pretty easy). I usually do the descending order from top left, but my 4 year old son wanted me to do Galaxy Man next, so I gave in. I'll try more levels tomorrow.

RadioShadow...check the setting on your tv or something...I have HD and use the component cables, and zero problems with 4:3 ration game centering etc...there' probably a setting on your television that isn't setup right.

Re: Mega Man 9

ADam...it doesn't have difficulty options, BUT there will soon be 'downloadable' content for Hero Mode (which is harder) and SuperHero Mode which is probably near impossible...not to mention other great downloadable content/modes (for a small price)

Re: Mega Man 9

I meant to put this comment here...

I've beaten two levels now...Concrete Man and Galaxy Man....(only two I've tried so far)

It's perfect!!! Feels like the old mega man games...I'm even getting a blister on my thumb just like the old days First game to give me a blister in years!!!

Online 'time attack' record board for each level.
Checklist for completing certain achievements (ie: finish game, beat a level with only mega buster, get through level without being damaged, beat the game with out dying, etc...around 50+ achievements).

Downloadable content on it's way for more challenges.
This game has mega replay all over it. Hopefully I can beat some of the time records, but some are good and I'm getting old

It's better than expected so far, but I've only played two levels and spent about 90 minutes on it. Perfect retro game!

Re: USA WiiWare Update: Mega Man 9 and Plättchen

Yeah...concrete man is probably best to be saved for later since it takes awhile with the mega buster...but I did it after many tries (2 of them where I died when Concrete Man had 1 stinking life var left)...if I can do it, y'all will get it faster than I did.
