@Mormel Of course, don't get me wrong—I'm not saying this is the most reasonable outcome and it's really sad it had to end up like this. Companies aren't our friends and physical game distribution is expensive. If numbers don't add up, they'll back down at the slightest opportunity.
@Mormel The whole point of this distributor selling the game was adding languages to a physical cartridge. So if clients want to buy the game in English and don't care about other languages, they already have the means to do so.
@Chlocean Despite Meridiem being a video game publisher, their role here is distributing to retail stores in Europe. The actual publisher is Fangamer.
As far as I've been able to assess, there might also be licensing issues to boot. A Spanish localization was already added to the Xbox Game Pass version, but the game was pulled off from the storefront after OMOCAT and Xbox ended their partnership.
@gcunit The enemy designs and animations look good, and that checkpoint flag creature looks adorable. But the overall look of the game screams “average” and is not up to par for a sequel of a cult classic. The walking cicle animation alone will make some 2D animators’ eyes roll. Not consulting or having Tomomi Sakai on board is going to hurt this game’s reputation. Meanwhile, this absolute gem of a remake is still exclusive to an arcade platform. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmUyoFvgprw

It looks like a cheap mobile game. What did they do to you, little Gimmick...
